That's my FAVORITE time of year at Epcot! You're very lucky to have the opportunity to visit during the Food & Wine Festival.
The best way to describe the event is a celebration of food and drink from around the globe. All around World Showcase, temorary structures are erected, each featuring a handful of menu items from a specific country or region. The ones I remember: Canada, Ireland, Switzerland, Australia, France, Italy, Japan, China, Spain, the United States, Mexico, Argentina... I'm positive that there's more, but I can't remember them right now. Anyway, each location offers appetizer size portions of unique dishes for a couple bucks each. There are also great wines and other beverages to accompany the delicious food. That way, you can have dinner simply by strolling around World Showcase and sampling a little bit from each place.
During the event there are also wonderful seminars presented by chefs from around the world, wine and beer tastings, and special dinners held at the Odyssey and Millenium Village. If you have an opportunity, make reservations to attend one of the dinners. The best one I experienced was at the Millenium Village, featuring a dozen different chefs each preparing a signature dish. There was also a cheese tasting area with what seemed to be a hundred different varieties, and wines from vineyards all over the world. Everything was included in the price of admission for the event, and it was set up like a huge cocktail party or informal dinner, allowing us to roam and mingle without being stuck at one table all night.
I could go on and on... If you have any specific questions, let me know. As I've said before, food is one thing I can always find time to talk about!
