Hidden Fees at Grosvenor Resort

Hidden Fees at Grosvenor Resort
We extended our stay at Disney World over the Marathon weekend, but could only get a reservation at the Grosvenor Resort. We were told the room charge would be $106 per night. When we got there they tacked on a $9 per day resort fee! Very deceptive! Needless to say we will not ever stay there again! Has anyone else run into this situation at a Downtown Disney Resort?

Lots of hotels have resort fees. They're a scam and I think it's been a way to get some money back when internet booking places discount their rooms

Being an ex-travel agent & airline employee for 10 yrs........there are a lot of undisclosed fees within the travel & leisure world. One of the biggest complaints from travelers is the added hotel fees that are not mentioned when you book. If you book online, you can see the small print that states all the added fees. The biggest complaint that I have heard over the years is the resort fees. Supposedly they say that it helps pay the housekeeping staff since tips are not given, etc., etc. & yaddy yadda. If you ever looked at any of your hotel bills you will find a resort fee but maybe called something else, because it is pretty much an industry standard, not just exclusive to this hotel, and most will not tell you about the fees, you only know it when you go to check out unfortunately
Here is an article that talks about the different fees that can are commonly used at hotels.

Downtown Disney hotel bus transportation is so much better than really off-property hotels bus transportationpyrateslife4me84 wrote:We had a horrible experience at the Grosvenor...the absurd bus system they have is reason enough to just stay at an official Disney Resort. Never again will I stay off property!
