Good point...

...but the change back is JUST A RUMOR! It has NOT been confirmed!

But it's a very believable rumor, mindflipper. It makes sense and would save them money in the long run and that's what's they love. Purchasing another Iago would probably cost a bit more than removing Zazoo/Tiki Goddess from the show.

Sure, why not? With the audio all digital now, how difficult would it truly be to make an identical copy of DL's version audio and re-program the animatronics?

Plus, it would make a nice draw for the 40th....I don't know how crowded Tropical Serenade used to get in WDW (never got to see it :( ) but ETR still draws a large crowd at DL.

Even as MadEye pointed out, they haven't even put up any construction walls, which would make sense if they were going to remove all the ETR: UNM items that are not part of ETR. Until something more concrete appears, I would assume it's just a rumor.

But why would they need construction walls up if they are just removing AA's from the inside?

Because of the pre-show AAs (if you can call it that), and to prevent some idiot kid (or a kid of idiot parents, either or...) from walking into what is essentially a construction zone. CMs at the entrance can only do so much.

Why put up a wall like they did last year for restroom remodeling between Adventureland and Liberty Square when the work was mostly inside? Same difference.

Usual Disney SOP; they don't want people like us snapping pics with iphones of what's going on. If something is being removed, they wouldn't want it to be known until the PR people decide when to tell the public.

It's odd that there aren't walls up if the attraction is already closed.

Did they have to close it after the fire? They might just not have walls up yet. It isn't supposed to be back open until May right?

Not if any work they have to do because of the fire is not in any guest areas (above the show itself).

It has been closed since the day the fire happened. All I've seen is a lone CM at the entrance to TR:UNM telling guests it is closed. And from what I've read/heard it's supposed to open June 1st. Like I said before the opening date is subject to change.

Well, then they have plenty of time to work above the attraction without construction walls, and if they truly are restoring the ETR without the "new management" then they could do that work later...with walls.

That's my thinking too. I'm surprised that they didn't put walls up anyhow. In DL, anytime any attraction is closed for an extended period for whatever reason, there are walls up. Even if there is no major work going on.

...do you suppose WDW is running short on walls with all the construction going on?

Out of curiosity: does anyone know if Disney carries property insurance on WDW? You would think it, but the premiums would have to be a scarey number so I just assumed maybe they're self-insured?

I never thought about it but I would think they must have some very good insurance. And it probably is some sort of self-insurance because you are right, those premiums would be out of this world

They haven't even told us anything. Noone really knows whats happening with the Tiki Room. We even took away the position of the person standing in front telling guest it is closed.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha
