They actually talk fondly of it like it was a nice trip! And I know people can have that attitude about it, but going to WDW is one of those things you're "supposed to do" when you have kids. My one brother isn't a Disney fan and complained mightily when we first went to visit them in California and made them go to Disney. I noticed he liked it all right once we were there. The kids complained most of the day because it was so hot. That probably had as much to do with my brother's dislike for Disney ~ lots of money, complaining, whining children = not such a fun day. We went back later in the trip when my sister-in-law had to work and the kids were back in school. We took the Walk in Walt's Footsteps and had a great day 
I hate it when people don't take their kids. Of course, not everyone can afford to, and that's a different situation. But those who can, but won't - I just think you give up so much for your kids, but you won't make that sacrifice for your kids to have that experience? Not my cousin; he may have been 18 years old, but that day in EPCOT he was more like 8 years old. My favorite bit: when eating at Germany a couple at the same table thought he was my son because she could see the resemblance. I think it's great when that happens! I just know it's harder for some people.
