If you don't mind driving a mile or two and don't want to pay Disney prices, you have the Crossroads with a slew of places to eat: Perkins, Uno Chicago Grill, Friday's, a new place (at least to the area) called Sweet Tomatoes (make your own salad buffet, but not just salads), Fudruckers, Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Lobster, Chevy's ("fresh" Mex), and of course McDonalds (which you have right there at DTD) and Taco Bell.

For a quick lunch I would assume you are ordering pretty much a hamburger or equivalent. Unfortunately, all of the places are going to be pricey since they are tourist traps for their scenary (PH, Rainforest, T-Rex). I guess you could try them all, but keep in mind you are eating at chain restaurants that you can eat at in many other places outside of Disney.

i didnt know that the meal plan worked at downtown disney also, thats cool! i should check that out.
Yeah, we've been to Crossroads alot. We are staying at a hotel this time right near there. Uhh i forgot which it was. Ill post it when i remember. We always eat in there though and i think we are gonna try something new this time. We have gone to WDW like soooooo many times that we ended up doing the same thing (same restaurants and stuff). So we wanna try other restaurants this time.MadEye wrote:If you don't mind driving a mile or two and don't want to pay Disney prices, you have the Crossroads with a slew of places to eat: Perkins, Uno Chicago Grill, Friday's, a new place (at least to the area) called Sweet Tomatoes (make your own salad buffet, but not just salads), Fudruckers, Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Lobster, Chevy's ("fresh" Mex), and of course McDonalds (which you have right there at DTD) and Taco Bell.

I will give a vote out for Raglan Road in DD....good food and atmosphere! However about Ghirardelli's.....
The way I look at it...someone has to maintain quality control at Ghirardelli's....I mean, we can't have these guys foisting bad chocolates on people, especially visitors from other countries. Someone has to eat there to make sure everything's okay.(My daughter lives in San Francisco, she makes sure they adhere to standards in their homeport)
So I guess we could also look at it as a cultural liaison responsibility...United Nation type stuff!
If we chocolate lovers do not uphold quality control measures who knows what might happen. It might cause an international incident!
P.S.
This is also what my husband and I tell ourselves every time we are "required" to taste something new in the Showcase....quality must be maintained!

Re: Downtown Disney Question.
It was one of my favorite trips. We tried "Wolfgang Pucks Express". I liked the food there. We usually skip the little shows in the World Show Case at EPCOT but we tried them this time. We stayed at the New Orleans Riverside for the first time. I loved that hotel with the fishing area and that you can take the boat to downtown disney and back. I will defiantly stay there again in the future. We split EPCOT up into two days. We did future world one day and the World Showcase the other day. This was better (atleast for us) so we could have time to take it slow and see everything. This was best for the world showcase. We saw all the shows and looked through all the shops and i tired food from every country. I even drank the world hehehehecousininmiami wrote:So how was your trip??? Sometimes they give out free samples so you can keep going back for more every few minutes. This past time, I decided to have a banana split one night for a snack. That was amazing!JPG wrote:Just say to yourself over and over...."I am on vacation, it's OK"....MetalRage wrote:lol thats not a bad idea hahaJPG wrote:Or............You could just go to Ghirardelli's and eat a bunch of CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!
