Downtown Disney Question.

Post by MetalRage » Apr Wed 29, 2009 8:01 pm

My family is going to WDW in 2 weeks and are planning on eating at Downtown Disney. I was wonder what are good but not expensive places to eat? We always eat at the Earl Of Sandwich. We noticed that most of the places to eat are expensive such as the Crab House. We wanna try another restaurant but don't wanna blow all the money on one lunch lol.

How about Captain Jacks? I have always enjoyed it, but haven't checked into the prices lately. You might want to check on allearsnet.com for the menus and prices.

Wolfgang Puck Express is REALLY good. They have pizza, pasta, sandwiches, etc. You order at a counter, but they have people bring your food out to you. The entrees are around $10, maybe a little more, but it is really worth it! Check out the menu page under the Dining tab on allears.net - they will give you menus, prices, and reviews of all of the DTD restaurants.

we thought about the Wolfgang Puck Express. My mom suggested going there. I totally forgot about allearsnet.com! Thanks.

I would recommend WP Express, too (though I would say to avoid the sit-down place on the west side). It and Earl of Sandwich are the two places I've heard consistently good reviews of. The rest? Not so much.

Oh, I'd like to. =D

I realize you're kidding, but actually if I was gonna recommend a MickyD's on property (and I'm not, but hypothetically speaking), I'd say go to the one over by Animal Kingdom. At least it's interesting to look at. I hear it's also the highest-priced McDonald's in the state. Sneaky buggers. Still they both seem to do a booming business, don't they? I imagine they're both big with families who have picky eaters.

But seriously; go to WP Express.

Earl of Sandwhich is good...I really enjoy Wolfgang Puck Express...theres always McDonalds!!! :) I would actually recommend some of the restaurants just outside of DTD like Chevys..Vallartas...Ale House has some of the best food and cheap prices in my opinion..these are all right there on in the Crossroads area right before you turn into the DTD area

I would second the Wolfgang Pucks express. I've always had a good meal there and its not pricey.

Raglin Road is great, and relatively inexpensive, and almost always has some great music going on.

I second Raglin Road and most suggestions here (except for maybe McieDs)

Planet Hollywood isn't bad if you don't mind an overcooked and overpriced hamburger (paying more for atmosphere)...

Bongos has a nice atmosphere and decent food.

Obviously the Rain Forest Cafe is great but can get pricey.

Have not tried the new dinosaur restaurant yet.

dont try the new dinosaur restaurant...just walk in there so you can see the dinosaurs..but the experience (in my opinion) is not worth paying for a mediocre meal.

I love raglan road..I love the music..i think the drink prices are outrageous!

ive never eaten at bongos...cant say im much of a cuban food fan..but I should probably give it a try first.

Again, if you want to stay in DTD and not go outside property..i would go to wolfgang puck express (and get the chicken ceasar wrap).

Oh..and House of Blues...you can get a decent priced sandwhich there...i love the pulled pork...or should I say the pulled swine flu sandwhich..im just joking..go eat pork people..you wont die!!!

HOB also has a great great po boy sandwich and gumbo..if you like the whole cajan thing

Rainforest Cafe is not that pricey but it is a chain. We don't go there because we have a Rainforest Cafe around 25 minutes from our home.

If your getting on the meal plan? You should check out all the restaurants that accept it at downtown disney. That would save you some money :ccat:
