I finally went on the Jungle Cruise!! The part with the piranhas is a way cool addition.

Yeah, but see, the problem with the piranhas is that that is supposed to be on a river in Africa when the piranha is native to South America...wrong continent Disney, but keep the ideas coming.
Playing tag should be permitted on Tom Sawyer's Island so the guards would stop yelling at me.

I thought the cruise and the animals were a conglomeration of scenes from various jungles throughout the world... Oh well. The power of Imagination!

I never even thought about the ride being geographically correct, or incorrect for that matter.

As far as I know, you're right about it being a conglomeration of rivers throughout the world, but on a website posted in someone's post that divulged what the new ride was going to be about, it said that that particular portion of the ride was supposed to be in Africa by Mt. Kilamonjaro, where there are no pirahnas...sorry to ruin anyone's illusion.

i know this post is a little late, being that the jungle cruise is already re-opened. but i have ridden the jungle cruise and never saw a gnu. i was too busy looking at the pirahnas. so i still haven't seen a gnu. maybe it was just a diversionary tactic to make us think that there was a gnu *shifty eyes* but what i found interesting and later found the answer to is, why they changed trader sam? the old trader sam was awesome. and sometime later did i find out that they just took his mask off.. :? i wondered why they did that. trader sam looked "scarier" i guess the term would be, since at that moment you had just passed the head hunters so it should "scare" you. but i don't know, they did it, and there's nothing i can do about it. :?

At night

If you have never been on the Jungle Cruise at night, you are really missing out. It is 'a whole new world'. I had not done so until about a year ago, but now we always make it part of our trip. Sometimes the skippers are so tired (and so are we) that it seems funnier than ever. The scenes seem quite different when seen with spotlights.

I just came back from Disneyland at the first of this month and really enjoyed the Jungle Cruise. I guess I missed out on the gnu as well then because I'm always looking at the piranhas also. I do miss the tunnel area that Disney World has.

I find it a bit hard to see things when I go at night. It is like a new world, but aside from the corny jokes, the ride is also a visual one. Just doesn't seem as fun to me.
