And this is a bad thing, why??????packwingfn wrote:Exactly, which scares me as a Red Wings fan since Columbus really hasn't been that scary of an opp. so far (knock on wood), so if we were to play Anaheim/Calgary/Chicago in the 2nd round then it will be a tough series for sure and might catch the Red Wings off guard, but they are well experienced to not fall into that trap but all it takes in the NHL Playoffs is a hot goalie.

DaRkNeSs wrote: A hot goalie can make all the difference in the world, the whole team gets more confidence, knowing that even if a player gets by your goalie can make the save. The Red Wings have enough leadership, that it would take alot to get caught off guard. They also have solid players that can light the lamp, always a tough team to beat 4 times. Capitals have pulled jose and are starting a 20 year old. He did shut out the rangers last game gives me some hope in that series. Got my fingers crossed! Avery keeps losing his temper, we got 3 power plays from him losing his cool! I will take that all day! :0
True but that all depends on the series. I have seen hot goalies loose it in the cup because they swept the series before and the other team was on a streak. Bottom line is that a team that rests is a team that fails. Of course only time will tell on this, so stay tuned folks.

Someone here mentioned the ending of the Car/NJ game last night and that the refs missed a goaltender interference call. I disagree for two reasons. First, Brodeur made contact with Jokinen. If anything, Brodeur interfered w/ Jokinen. Second, the contact occurred outside of the crease. Brodeur wandered out, and ran into Jokinen. I think th no-call was the correct call. And not just because I was a Whaler fan in my youth.

Re: Confidence
Even though this is a much different Red Wings team than from a few years ago, I still have memories of the upsets over the Red Wings from the Flames, Oilers, and Ducks but the team last year and so far this year show enough leadership, skill and depth that I feel confident with them.DaRkNeSs wrote:A hot goalie can make all the difference in the world, the whole team gets more confidence, knowing that even if a player gets by your goalie can make the save. I totally disagree. Even with the rule changes goalies aren't fair game! I don't know what you saw and just want to know what color are your glasses? I would say a word that starts with B and ends with s and is 8 letters long, but I'd get flagged! Yes this was one of those times I YELLED at the TV!!kcarts wrote:Someone here mentioned the ending of the Car/NJ game last night and that the refs missed a goaltender interference call. On top of it I'm a RANGER FAN!!

Anyway, I saw Jokinen standing in front of the net serving as a screener. As the puck was swung from Brodeur's rigth to left, he moved to follow and ran in to Jokinen. How is that interference on Jokinen? Again, if anything Brodeur interfered w/ Jokinen.
Oh, and au revoir, Les Canadiens...... Who's next?

As a South Floridaian who saw way to much of jokinen I can say I HATE HIM!!!! He was never a team player down here, and was always rude with fans. All 5 of us at practices would always get snubbed by him. He never aprked with the rest of the team and would always leave practice 20 min. earlier than everyone else. I hope Brodeur accidently hts the back of his knees next time hes in front again!...oh Let's Go RANGERS!!!!! yup, I almost forgot!

Well, I'm the one who posted about that play. It is definitely not the way a game should end. It is definitely controversial and I would love to hear a comment from the league as to what they thought... but that will never happen.kcarts wrote:My glasses are green and blue!!!Jacca5660 wrote:I totally disagree. Also, it looks like the Rangers might be next. If they can win one of the next three games it will be Rangers Bruins in round 2. It is kind of scary that I predicted the outcome of the past two games in the series.

Let's down these guys and get a couple of days rest. I'd love to see the Rangers win the next game and get it over. I don't know it might be better if we won in six. I hate long lay overs. YEA I SAID WE!!

We are a part of the team so I think this is acceptable. As fans, it is our obligation to the team to scream when we are there and scream at the TV when we can't be there. The hockey spirits will hear us and the team will get a boost from our energy level. This is my theory as to how the Rangers were able to kill off those last two penalties for the win. They felt my added energy and "we" came through in the clutch.Jacca5660 wrote:Let's down these guys and get a couple of days rest. I'd love to see the Rangers win the next game and get it over. Now as for the number of games we can win it in. I would prefer to take it tomorrow night in Washington. "We" have a lot to work on and find tune if "we" want to get past the Bruins in the next round.

I know I'm going to get dinged for a double post so JS can just condense this into my other one if he wants.......Len90 wrote:We are a part of the team so I think this is acceptable. I hope the Rangers win as well. The B's have had a terrible time with the Caps this season. The Rangers, not so much. 2-1-1. And nothing warms the heart of a Bostonian quite as much as watching a local team end the season for team from NY.

I'd like to see that! And then I can regale w/ my version of the 2004 Yankees. It will take a bit longer considering it was a four game dry heave!

Wow, this has gotten bitter and the series match-up isn't even finalized. I'll stay out of this until the Rangers clinch their series. I'm thinking that will be taken care of by the end of this weekend (hopefully later tonight).kcarts wrote:Jacca5660 wrote:
