It is with extreme excitment that I'm announcing that my family and I are going to Disney World May 17-24th! We're staying at our most favorite resort, our beloved Poly!
My mom was diagnosed two years ago with an auto-immune disease which effects her hands/feet. She's been struggling with this and it hasn't been easy. Her disease is in remission and her 60th birthday is in July. We decided to go in May b/c the humidity is really too much for her in July, her hands/feet are effected by extreme weather. She will also be able to enjoy the flower and garden show as well. It's my DH's birthday too and he'll be graudating the day before! So, this is a huge celebration vacation for us all. Unexpected too, so happy we were able to take advantage of the buy 4 get 3 free!!! I'll have my dad along with me which means we'll do Dive Quest!
I can hardly contain myself and I wanted to share my excitment with all of my fellow Subsonicers!!!

Congrats boilerbabe! I think I know that bursting out with excitement feeling

It sounds like it is going to be a really special vacation with a lot to celebrate. I would definitely reccomend that you make an ADR at a special restaurant and give them a heads up on your mom's and husband's bithdays. If all goes well, you should have a very special dinner.

Awesome news, boilerbabe!!! Those are some great reasons to celebrate for sure. Wish your mom the best and a terrific trip for you all. So exciting when you just book a trip and especially when its not that far away.

Congrats and enjoy your vacation. Even though I never stayed at Poly, I always love eating there or just walking around the lobby. It is a really nice atmosphere. Good hotel choice. I am happy to hear that your mom is well enough to go to Disney!

We celebrated my husband's 60th in Nov of 2007!!!!!!! The fall is a great time to visit WDW!! You're never to old to love Mickey and his friends. I hope your mom does well. Thank goodness her illness is in remission. I have several friends who have struggled with this type of thing and they all seem to be doing better. Good luck to her.
