Anyone ever been?

I would love to visit all the parks, but I have not been to any Disney parks outside the US. One day I will win the lottery, of course it would help if I actually remembered to buy a ticket!

Ditto..never been out of North America, but I am just chomping at the bits to visit DisneySea eventually. It looks amazing!

Was an avid WDW goer back in the day. Living in Japan right now and have made it to Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea 5 times. Disneyland rates with WDW, but with friendlier service throughout the park. DisneySea is absolutely beautiful. Most scenic park I've ever been to. My kids adore this park (15,9), both boys.

How did you go about learning the language. I want to learn Japanese so if I get the chance to go to Japan I can use it. I also want to learn because we have Students from Japan that come to our school every year, I believe their school is called Azabu.....not sure right now, they arrive in August so I have less time to learn conversational just basic hello's and of the like.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No but after hearing about the great things at DisneySea in Tokyo I really want to visit there! Oh and the huge Haunted Mansion fan in me wants to see the Phantom Manor at DLP!

Phantom Manor is AWESOME. I just went to DLPR for the first time (after many trips to the American parks) and it blew my mind. Haunted Mansion was always a favorite ride of mine but now, it seems so...lacking. It's not as scary or elaborate as PM and PM follows the storyline of the bride much better.

I'd love to go to Tokyo Disney and thought it'd be do-able in the next few years...until I saw the airfare prices from LA to Tokyo!

Dr., my vocabulary is about 20 words. Luckily, you can get by in English, and if you run into a problem where the Japanese don't understand you then they run and get someone real quick who usually speaks fluent English. The Japanase are always saying sorry for not understanding what were saying, but I quickly turn it around and apoligize right back because I wish did know more Japanese. We've been 5 times and have had a wonderful time everytime. The Japanese are wonderful at the Disney parks.

Ooh, I was just about to make a new thread asking if any -current- posters have been, and lo and behold here you are.

I'm planning a trip to Japan for this fall and while I'm certain we're going to spend a day at DisneySea, I'm not sure about Disneyland itself. I'm a WDW regular, for reference, and while I'd be happy to see Cinderella castle in its proper grey-blue again, I'm not sure there's enough else that I'd really want to see that'd make it worth a day.

Do you think I'll regret it if we skip TDL this trip and just hit Sea? We're only going to be in Tokyo about a week, and this isn't a 'Disney trip', so there's bunches of other stuff I wanna do.

I've been fortunate to go to all of the parks in both Paris and Tokyo. My favorite out of all of them would have to be Tokyo DisneySea. The theming is unbelievable! The pooh ride in Tokyo DL blows the US versions out of the water but I guess that is due to the deeper pockets of the OLC. I really want to go to Hong Kong DL, even though it doesn't look fully developed yet.

I lived on Saipan, which is near Guam, for 2 years. It is only 3 hours from Tokyo, so in the 2 years I lived there, I went to Tokyo Disneyland 5 times! DisneySea is truly the most unique Disney park in the entire world. It is amazing! The Magic Kingdom equivalent is nearly identical to its Florida sister, but it has Pooh's Hunny Hunt, which is worth the price of admission alone!

So, now the only parks I haven't been to are Hong Kong and the original Disneyland (which I am planning on going to this summer, I hope!)

If you ever get the chance to go to Tokyo, TAKE it. Disneyland Paris is nice as well, but I think the Japanese are much better hosts than the French. Just my personal opinion.

All the parks, USA and overseas, have both good and bad features. I say, lets go visit them all and ejoy them all!!!!!!!!

I'm hoping to get to DisneyParis one day. I'd love to visit DisneySea, given the description from everyone, but Japan is so expensive and it would be hard for me to justify the trip since I've already visited there. I know that may sound odd, but one's life and travel dollars are limited, and I want to see the places I haven't seen in Asia before I go back to the ones I've already been to.

DisneyParis is different, since it's so near so much - an easy sidetrip.
