Animal Kingdom Lodge!! I love the atmosphere at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Well, the atmosphere at Disney is great of course, but I like the theme of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and what's going on around you. Having the animals graze just outside of your window in the savanna while the sun rises is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. It is so great sitting on the balcony watching it. Disneynut is right, Jiko is an amazing restaurant, the food is definitely worth it.

It looks like the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Wilderness Lodge are running away with this one. That's understandable... the theming at those two resorts is absolutely incredible. By the way, an interesting side-note: The same architecture firm designed both resorts. They did a great job!

Even though both the WL and AKL have totally different theming, I'm not surprised that they were designed by the same architecture firm. In a way, they are similar. It's hard to describe, I'm not sure exactly what to say. Well, whatever architecture firm it is did an incredible job, which I'm sure we can all agree on. kgmadorin, do you know the name of the architecture firm that did them?
And AKLRULZ, I have never done a split stay between resorts, but I think that would be an awesome idea. Splitting up your time at Disney between AKL and WL would be so much fun.

Actually, I do! The firm is named 4240 Architecture. Here is their website: http://www.4240arch.com/Siriuslydead wrote: Even though both the WL and AKL have totally different theming, I'm not surprised that they were designed by the same architecture firm. The main architect on both projects was Peter Dominick.

Thank you very much! I'll call them up for when I have a lot of money and want to make an AKL mansion for myself. Everyone's invited for the House-warming party!

Wow, Disney must really like them. I don't blame Disney though, what's not to like? They do a tremendous job. Imagine being asked to create two Deluxe Resorts at Walt Disney World. That must be a hell of a job, but also a fun one.
