Post by Len90 » Mar Sun 08, 2009 11:33 am

It with great pride and joy that Mark86 and I announce that we are going to Disney World. We'll be staying at the Yacht Club and the Buy 4 Get 3 deal has made dreams come true. We will be there from July 3 - 11!

Just had to share this

Make sure you are in EPCOT for the 4th of July fire works! Disney brings out the Armageddon barge. It's not to be missed. They only bring it out for the 4th and new years. When they shoot off the fire works it plunges down over three feet into the water. You'll have to get there at no later then noon.

We are going June 21 to June 28th. Booked right now at POP but going to call AAA today and see if CBR is still available. My son wanted to stay at POP but I finally have him convinced to go back to CBR. The new pool looks awesome and the tip bucket looks like a lot of fun for the kids! I'm so excited!

Make sure to budget for extra water and time in the shade. Disney World in July = surface of the sun hot!

Hope you guys have a great trip!!

^ What they said! I hope you enjoy your trip, but Florida's outdoor environment isn't really zoned for human life during the summer months. I recommend encasing yourselves in climate-controlled plastic bubbles.

On the plus side, you'll be able to grill steaks on the hood of your car after it's been sitting in the Animal Kingdom parking lot for a few hours. :)

Remember you can always wait for the cool of the evening when it's only about 95 degrees and 98% humidity. Did anybody tell you about looking for the Florida state bird? Remember to look for the rare mosquito. Florida abounds in theses delights and you should have no problem spotting them.

Very funny. We survived the heat last year when we went in the same time frame. It's tough, but the pool works out well.

As for the steaks on the car hood, we'll have to do that at the DTD since it is Disney Transport only to and from the parks.

Oh, come on - the heat is THAT bad! Everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I'm definately a warm-natured kind of person. I think that it gets too cold here in GA...

I hope you guys have a great trip and who knows - I may be down there at the same time! (APs are AMAZING!)

Hahaha. I agree with spodie. My last family trip to WDW was on the 4th of July and I LOVED the weather. It's really not THAT hot. And all the structures in the parks create nice breeze tunnels sometimes. lol

Dangit. It's like 30 degrees here right now.
