Three hour drive? Do you take I-75? I know when I drive it takes 1.5-2 hours depending on the traffic and Florida Highway patrol (the more there are, the longer it takes me). I-75 is a fairly direct route and with the new exit 267A it is even faster, it takes you right onto property without having to fight I-4.Future Guy wrote:Three hour drive from here.

I can drive, but WDW is in walking distance...
(cast parking for Magic Kingdom is right across the street)

Gladly... If it wasn't for the trees, I'd be able to see Cinderella Castle from my apartment. If it wasn't for the building across the street, I'd be able to see Contemporary and Space Mountain too.boilerbabe wrote:Just rub in it why don't ya?!

For me, this means WDW. I have never been to Disneyland.
But I always drive.
I have a fear of flying (I didn't used to until I had a *VERY* bad experience flying one time- had nothing to do with Disney, I was flying from SC to PA).
But it is about 8 hours from SC to FL so it isn't so bad. And for the most part, the scenery is pretty nice. I usually have my hubby with me, so that makes it all the better.
Of course when I lived in Orlando, it was about 35 minutes down 436 and I-4 for me!!

Depends on who you ask. A lot of neighbors hate it here ("Fireworks are too loud..." Then why don't you move???)Jacca5660 wrote:BITE ME!!! Show off!!! LOL!! LOL!! Lucky dog!!
Yes. But only from one of the two bedroom windows (blocked by walls and trees at the other window and balcony). And can even hear them being shot off from their mortars, not to mention the ferry boats from Seven Seas lagoon, Illuminations fireworks (muffled), the WDW Railroad trains (especially when they take them in and out of maintenance), the Electrical Water Pagent, and sometimes SpectroMagic on quiet nights.Len90 wrote:JEALOUS!!! Off topic, sorry, but I fly Allegiant from Sanford to Tri-Cities to visit my parents. It ends up costing me just under $100 round trip, including gas to the airport. You can't beat it. It's a no-frills airline, but I sleep on flights anyways so I am not missing out on anything.cap396 wrote:I got a flight from Columbia, South Carolina to Orlando for a grand total of $29.60! It's a little dinky airline called Allegiant Air. They fly between Orlando's Sanford airport and about 40 different cities.

Living in Michigan, the only way to go is by plane for me. I am not a big fan of driving for any great stretch of time, so driving from Michigan to Orlando is not an option for me. Besides, if I am taking a vacation to Disney for a week, I want to get there ASAP and stay for as long as I possibly can!!! I would rather be at the parks instead of driving, and driving, and driving......
We only fly now - Live in the northeast so tried driving a couple times and even did Amtrak once which was kind of fun but with the prices of flights these days (except for that stint in 2008 where they shot up for about 6 months) it's kind of hard to not fly. We can grab fares from out of Phillly or AC for about $120-$150 roundtrip/pp.
