I think I hit most of the major issues in this thread, but the comment you quoted above pretty much summed it up.

The last time they tried that, it came up with their worst park (in Orlando, anyway). They followed up by aping Busch Gardens.
I don't think they really need to make it three in a row and copy IOA (or, worse, Six Flags!) next. By the way, IOA isn't even just about thrills, although it does have a few "non-Disney" rides.
I'd like to see Disney use some...what's that stuff called again...? Imagi-something?
Anyway, some of that.

Captain unfortunately for Disney to really Imagineer something I think you'd need Timekeeper. It seems the days of Disney developing a venue just for a venue sake are gone. It's like the only thing they can do now has to have a movie or talent tie in. It's a very sad state of affairs!
PS Some here think me a very harsh critic of Disney. That may be true. I love Disney and I feel someone has to try to hold Corporate Disney to task. If I have to scream at the walls of Disney Headquarters

I wonder where Disney stands at this point on the plan for the Night Park??? With the economy I can't image there's much thought of opening a new park. The Night Park seems directed toward a smaller audience and I think they would want to look for a wider group at this point.

I voted for neither. The Night Kingdom idea is simply awful. How can Disney justify an entire park to the select "few" with big, deep pockets? The Villian idea is too depressing for an entire park to be devoted to that theme.

They justify it by the fact that Sea World is doing it and making ALOT of money off of the concept. with a Brand Name like Disney behind it, a park like this would certainly bring in the money that the "big wigs" at Disney HQ are looking for. Also, many people that visit the Sea World version are there as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Disney is known for that. So, they want to cash in it as much as possible.
that's how they justify it. MONEY.

Neither, sorry. The four parks WDW has are fine. I truly could live without AK and DHS if Everest and Rock N' Roller Coaster were put in another park. I don't think I want another park.

I voted neither though I do like the idea of the villain park but I would much prefer something that disney has already made popular, think a kindom hearts type theme park that would have the characters you never meet in the parks any more like merlin yen sid barbossa maleficent admit it she is a hard one to find except for around halloween. The game is a hit and they should capitalise on it instead of something else say like HSM

. Or I would love a mysterious island theme park.

while a KH land/park would be cool, I believe that Square-Enix would need to sign off on their original characters in the parks. having the Disney-owned characters wouldn't be a problem, but if they stocked a KH park with only the Disney characters, it would lose alot of what made KH so popular.

I wouldn't want Disney to end up like an Islands of Adventure.

I voted for "neither".
I am not really sure exactly what kind of park I would like to see, but I didn't like either of those two suggestions.
Night kingdom seems kinda wierd- would it be open only at night? Could they make enough money doing that? And if it was open during the day how would that work?
The villains park seems a bit more likely- make it more like IOA, more for teens with some bigger, faster, scarier rides.
