What a wind storm!

Post by sherabby » Feb Thu 12, 2009 2:25 pm

I'm about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh and boy did we ever have a wind storm last night. There are still warnings until 8pm tonight. We lost power around 7pm for about 10 min and then it came back on in like half power. I've never experienced that before! All the lights were really dim. Our refrigerator didnt' work nor did our furnace. Finally around 2am we lost all power until 5:30am when the furnace finally kicked on and the smell of the heat coming on woke me up! Boy was it cold in the house!

Then I get to work and we have no power here either until 9:30am! No heat either! Some areas are not expected to get their power back until tomorrow afternoon!

Yeah, things are pretty bad around here. I just saw a pig in a striped sweater go flying away with a bear wearing a red shirt trying to hold on.....

We had some pretty bad wind here yesterday as well. However, it wasn't as bad as what you had to deal with! Mostly just turned traffic lights and signs here in the city and up in the suburbs some trees knocked over some power lines, but that's pretty much it.

The wind has been pretty bad here. Some street signs and traffic lights have fallen down to go along with the numberous branches and trees. There have been gusts so powerful that you can't even walk.

The wind has been pretty chilly here when I walked the dog a few hours ago. Other than that it's been calm so far and I like it. I know it's supposed to rain sometime this week so I'm looking forward to it again.

The schools here closed 3 hours early because of winds that hit 60+ during the thunder storms.

We had 65 mph winds and all the creepy hisses throughout the old house. We had hail, too. Weird February weather. I thought I saw a woman riding a bicycle in the sky. It turned out to be witch on a broom.

We had monsoon like rains here yesterday, crazy wind all night! I almost got swept away while running to my car from running some errands! I should've been like Mary Poppins, I just needed my umbrella! 8-)

My neighbor's shed in the backyard is now in their front yard. There are still people without power in certain areas because lines are down and the electric company cannot keep up. A major road is closed in our small town.
