Ok, I like the original. It wasn't a great ride but it was enjoyable. And it was educational. I mean at least it showcased what Mexico is all about, history and tourism both.

And I love Donald and when the idea of adding the Three Caballeros came out I thought this could be really good if they don't make it too cheesy. Well, they didn't make it too cheesy. What they did is make it annoying. Instead of having the characters learn about Mexico and help showcase the wonder and fun which would make you want to visit, you get a bunch of slapstick comedy where you don't even focus on the country at all. For all you know all this could be happening in Venezuela.

It's a shame really.

My favorite part of the Mexico pavilion has always been the shopping/restaurant area that so perfectly simulates an open-air Mexican marketplace at dusk, and I love the mariachi band that plays there sometimes. Fortunately, that experience hasn't changed at all since the park opened.

[quote="packwingfn"]Screamscape reader caught an interesting event on his cell phone camera the other night at Epcot as a park guest decided he was going to try to climb to the top of the Mexico pavilion. Making the event a little more scary to guests was the fact that as they got near the top they started to yell “I’m gonna jump!â€

Jacca, what have you seen?!
I saw a couple of parents fighting over their kids in Norway. It was a really bad scene and went on for a few minutes. There were punches thrown, some kicking also. I don't know what is was about. It was over for about five minutes before any CM's showed up.

YIKES! Sounds like the CM's were needed as referees, that's sad though really. Especially Disney, it's supposed to be a happy place! Talk about ruining a family vacation.

Whoa, that's insane! I'd be freaking out if I saw something like that happen in person.

Believe me my DW and I had our boys rapped in our arms. It really sad to be at Disney and see something like that. It's a little scary also. One of the thoughts I had at the time was: "If this is how they act here, what are they like out in the world?"

Sorry, I know this is going off topic now...but I think it's so sad for children to grow up in that type of environment. Like Jacca said, imagine what they're like in everyday life...yikes! Poor children. Makes me thankful for my family!!!! Count your blessing! :)

The only way you can get through life is by counting your blessing. God does answer prayers!!

For those of you who are uncertain about the new changes to the ride, I would highly recommend renting Saludos Amigos and the Three Caballeros (they came in one DVD in our library).

The shows are a fun tour through Mexico (and South America - Saludos Amigos). Adding the animated characters just makes it fun! I can see why they're animated in the ride now - some of the scenes look just like the film.
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

Yeah I've seen both movies so I was a bit excited to see one of my favorite movies as a child to implemented into this ride. I was not a huge fan of El Rio but I just feel that they have dumbed down the ride for the guests. World Showcase should be not be cartoony, I think it should be educational and leave all the cartoony stuff to the other parks.

They've done the same thing to the Norway restaurant too with the Princess dining...And now they've done Kim Possibile as well..(but I have not experienced this yet so I can't judge it yet)
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Rain upon that planet Earth. And they rain ... and rain ... and rain. The deluge.

I think the new version is adorable! I also like small world. It's like the mexican version of small world -- is that such a bad thing? The older version was soooo boring and even kind of creepy. It never made me want to go to Mexico. My three year old insisted on going on the new version over and over and luckily for me . . . no line!!! So you guys can keep skipping it and help me out ;-)

p.s. I do understand/agree that EPCOT is supposed to be about education and the future. I am seriously worried about Disney's direction. They need to get back to Walt's vision for the place.

Updating this and other Disney venues is OK and they are supposed to grow and change with the times. Can Disney just keep the MBA's hands out of it? Just do them intelligently and not just to make a new reason to buy a plush toy!

I like The Gran Fiesta Tour :) I used to watch the 3 Cabelleros all the time. I love the song and the characters and I just think its cute! It's better than the old ride.
