What rides have you been stuck on when they broke down?

In relation to Disney Parks but not specific to a single resort

Never been on splash to get stuck on it, but I was caught for a bit once on one of the other mountains, BTMR. Just had the remain seated message from that automated voice and the attraction started up right after. We were stuck at the loading dock and it was pretty funny just sitting there.

I got stuck on Space Mountain at DL last May! It was awesome. :D Right at the top of the lift hill inside the mountain I heard an unusual voice in the sound track...it wasn't until the ride had commenced for maybe 10-20 seconds when I realized it was the break-down spiel. We got stopped shortly thereafter...sat around for ten minutes until we were pushed by some CM's and rode the rest of the way to the exit. We then got to ride again without disembarking! :D So much fun; to see Space Mountain with the lights on is every Disney fan's dream, I guess! Only thing that could have been better is if we'd been walked off.

I was stuck on HM last trip. We were almost out of the graveyard scene, we were probably there for about 10 minutes. I happened to be right next to one of the heads that keeps popping up. Well about the 15th time it popped up it scared me and I jumped and screamed. Not like I hadn't seen it the other 14 times. I think the scene was getting to me.

WDW - Splash mountain. We were past the Briar Patch where it circles around to go back inside. They stopped the ride because of lightning. The stoppage, along with the backup of other boats ahead of us, had us outdoors, next to the waterfall which comes in on the right. We were being splashed by the waterfall from the side, the thunderstorm from above and still outdoors in the lightning. It was a few minutes before they started moving the boats along so we could at least be indoors.

During my midnight ride of HM (which was a huge ride milestone of mine LOL) it got stuck in the library. Okay I always feel like people are watching me in that ride but to be in there for like 10 minutes at midnight just creeped me out LOL!! It was great...but still uber creepy!! I really wanted to climb out of my doombuggy and go look at the books closer, but I'm sure that would have been a HUGE NO NO LOL!!

Music track my wife won't listen to

Post by luarth » Feb Sat 21, 2009 9:26 am

My wife doesn't mind my Disney obsession except for when Carousel of Progress audio comes on. After getting stuck on that 'ride' for what she says was 30 minutes, she can't take listening to that audio any more.

The very first time I got up the nerve to get on Space Mountain (I must have been 10 or something), it broke down just as we were queued up to get on next. We had waited in probably an hour-long line and I kept refusing to leave. I was all "you convinced me to get on this thing...now we're not leaving!"

I have also been stuck in Small World. Though, mercifully, not for a very long period of time.

Being stuck on IASW is listed as a form of torture by the Geneva convention!

hearing 30 minutes of it, yes it is. back in '99, a couple of the water pumps broke down, and we were stuck for almost 30 minutes. if I never hear that song again, I'll be happy.

I enjoy IASW very much. I only have one complaint, I've never seen it without a very long que.

You need to go to Disneyland, the queue looks long but it is actually very quick, I think even during the Opening weekend of the new version when we were at DL5 when the line had to have 500 people in it, it still went fast. Although that might have something to do with the fact that the Monorail brokedown and I got out of the line to take pictures. But still it moved fairly quick. The other days and nights of the weekend were empty, about a 4 minute wait to get on. WDW on the other hand takes forever. I forget whether or not they have two sides to load on but if they don't then I can understand why it takes that long.

If I remeber correctly, you enter on the right and exit on the left. I believe they load two boats at a time though.

As for 30 minutes on IASW js3901, I feel bad for you. But remember, it's a world of laughter, a world or tears; its a world of hopes, its a world of fear.; :D
