Previous post on a topic

Is there a way to see if I previously responded to a particular post. I know I can do a search and see all of my posts, but if I am in the forums can I search just the one topic ?

unfortunately, phpBB does not have this possibility (that I've been able to find). only way would be to search all your posts as you explained, running the general search on a particular subject and seeing any posts, or going page-by-page through the thread your looking at.

Yeah, it really sucks that when you login to SR then logout all your new posts are removed. :( I'd like to fix this eventually.

I belong to another phpBB board and it has a check mark on the index thread list if I posted. So there must be some way to do it but I certainly have no idea how.

Does Sub log you out after a time period? I've noticed I do have to log in again sometimes.

I haven't had that problem in a long time on my laptop. I'm always logged in.

Yeah, I'm always logged in or it remembers me or something like that.

It might just be some of my protection software logging me out. I think some of my safeguards limit how long my computer can stay logged in when not in use.

ooh or it could be that I pretty much never reboot my computers. Well actually now that I think about it I rebooted my computer the other day and I stayed logged in or "password remembered" Do you have some setting that dumps your cookies every day? that would do it. At least that would do in the password memory.

My user name and password are always there. It's just that I have to log in almost everyday.

It probably is something to do with security (the techies out there would know better than I). My laptop requires me to sign in everytime I come to the site, but my computer at work keeps me logged in. Even when I took a two week vaca, I didn't have to log in at work. I have tighter security on my laptop than at work.

I always have the forums window open, although I minimize it when not in use. it keeps me logged in unless I close it accidentally, or if it freezes and Windows requires me to close it.

Different forums and different browsers will have varying levels of security, so it really depends. agingerbugg, I'm guessing you have your laptop set up to clear cookies frequently, while your work computer doesn't. A cookie is a piece of information that sites use to identify you...if you delete the cookies, you have to impute the information (i.e. username and password) in again to make a new cookie. Sorry, slightly confusing; I'm not the best learned on this subject.

Anyway, all forums are different too. I am on several boards that will keep me logged in regardless of how many places I log into, whereas I was on another board that logged you out immediately if you logged in elsewhere, which was good for security but pretty annoying too. Just depends on how the board is set up.
