I do not believe I saw communicore or the Timekeeper. Also, I never went to "The Making of Me" in Wonders of Life. I never had the interest to see it, but in hindsight, I wish I did. Other than that, I pretty much went on all of the other rides. I wish I appreciated them more at the time. I went to 20,000 leagues when I was very young but have a vivid memory of it for some reason. It seemed like an ok ride, but I think I remember it because I believed that we were really going into deep underwater.

what was it that Uncle Walt said about the "Florida Project"?MW1218 wrote: (And yes, I realize that this would be impossible due to space constraints, and impractical due to old technology, etc., it was just a pipe dream.)
I believe he also said:Here in Florida ... we have something special we never enjoyed at Disneyland — the blessing of size. There's enough land here to hold all the ideas and plans we can possibly imagine.
All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

I know I saw Captain Eo the first time I ever went, but I was fairly young, I can don't really remember it much, so I would say Captain Eo and the the ORIGINAL Journey into Imagination (same as Eo..)

I would love to see a Yesterdayland Park, but I don't think it's space that would stop them from doing it, or even money. Really (as js pointed out), they had enough space to expand the parks without knocking anything down, which was the point of buying so much land. Well, one of the points.MW1218 wrote:I have fuzzy memories of all of the cherished attractions like Mr. Toad, the original Journey Into Imagination, Horizons, and so on. More than ever, they need to get started on the Yesterdayland park, where all of the attractions that were moved out of the big four parks go for retirement.

I guess we'll have to make do with Subsonic and Youtube. But there's nothing like experiencing things firsthand.
Anyway, the reason I think they'd never, ever do that is to do it is to admit that Y attraction, which cost however many millions, and is supposed to be the creme de la creme of WDI isn't unequivocally better than the X attraction it replaced. And that's more or less admitting they made a mistake. And they don't do that.
I do wish there was an elephant's graveyard of attractions, though.

I missed If You Had Wings/Dreamflight/If You Could Fly. In the early- and mid-80s my family used to go to Disney World once a year, but for some reason we always skipped this one. I never even knew it existed until I read about it on the Internet.
I missed Timekeeper also; my first visit after the installation of the "new" Tomorrowland was in 2001, and Timekeeper had already gone seasonal by then.
I rode 20,000 Leagues once when I was very little, but for some reason it scared the crap out of me so we didn't ride it again. I don't know why we didn't go on it once I had gotten a little older.
I made 3 trips to EPCOT before Eisner and co. decided to "improve" it by making it worse, so I have happy memories of Horizons, Journey Into Imagination, World of Motion, the original Living Seas with the seacabs, the Cronkite Spaceship Earth, and the original El Rio del Tiempo. I'm glad about that.

My guess is absurd lines. For some reason, I remember the wait for it being interminable.Future Guy wrote: I rode 20,000 Leagues once when I was very little, but for some reason it scared the crap out of me so we didn't ride it again. True. It took longer for people to climb into and out of the submarines that it would for them to board a continuously-moving dark ride. Not only that, but I don't think there were enough submarines to allow for continuous boarding. The traffic flow in that area is much better now that 20K's not there, but it was a shame to lose it all the same.MW1218 wrote:My guess is absurd lines. Anyone ride the swans? I think that I remember them?
I remember riding Figment, Horizons, 20 Thousand Leages, World of Motion, Living Seas.....
Yes, I miss them, but would I go back to see them year afer year? Not if Disney never updated or put in new rides/attractions.

That is the best way to sum it up for me. One of my bigger regrets is the old skyway since I was never able to ride it and always wanted to see fantasyland from above.MetalRage wrote:any ride/show that was around and shut down before i was born or can remember lol

I missed the Timekeeper and the Epcot Pavillion with Body Wars (not sure of the name) both were seasonal and I guess our trips were never "seasonal".
The sky buckets at WDW.
Not missed but almost missed was a character meal at Liberty Tree. We finally ate there in October last year and now it is no more.
I'm sure there were parades and other similar attractions that I've missed.

I want to expand a bit on what I said. The problem with me is that the first time I visited WDW, I probably saw a lot of cool things, like Horizons and Timekeeper and all that stuff, but since I was a bit young, and my memory is cruddy, so I really don't remember them.
So it isn't quite as much of "what did I miss" as much as "what do I not remember"? which is, unfortunatly, almost everything.

Since I didn't get to WDW for my first time until June 2000 (I was 35 then), there were many of the classic favorites that I hear the audio tracks for here and wish I had been able to experience them:

Horizons
World of Motion
20,000 Leagues
