This kinda stuff upsets me. So I felt this song sums up my thought without useing bad words.

Aerosmith Livin' on the Edge Lyrics:
There's somethin' wrong
with the world today
I don't know what it is
Something's wrong with our eyes......

There is a lot more to the song, but I guess you get my drift.

Just seeing the graph and how it dropped dramatically like that almost made my stomach flip.

If I see him in the park I will Boo very loudly. and mention that he should be giving back to the company. Granted, like in the article, most of the money is from Stock Options that were trading at $30 a share and are now $21 dollars a share. But still he should be investing that money back into the company. I'm sure he can part with 25 million dollars and still pay for his house and food. And as a stock holder I say that this is wrong and I am willing to sell my stocks because of it. Again if i ever see him in person I will tell him that.

I like how the author tries to soften the blow a bit by saying
Ryan Nakashima, AP Business Writer wrote:But most of it came in stock options that currently have little value
Like THAT makes it any better?

According to the filing, Iger declined a $2.4 million bonus he was eligible to receive related to total shareholder return.

"He thought it was the appropriate thing to do," said Disney spokesman Jonathan Friedland.

Oh, how nice of him... I wonder what he will do with 51.1 million dollars. I am sure I can think of a way that money could be put to better use.

Wow, with that kind of money California Adventure could have the makeover it really deserves...after all, Walt invested everything he had to create Disneyland.
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

At least Iger is actually working.

The New York Knicks' Stephon Marbury is making $20.8 million this season for doing absolutely nothing. He's refusing to play. And last season, the Knicks fired coach Isiah Thomas and forbade him from having any contact with the team, but continued to pay him his hefty salary. Dead celebrities like Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, and Marilyn Monroe continue to pull down millions of dollars per year even though they're no longer technically alive.

The business world is rife with this kind of thing. At least Disney remains profitable.

I think Iger's compensation last year was appropriate. Dont get me wrong..there might be a few things that could be thrown out like free health club membership..but lets look at the value this guy has brought to the company in his short tenure:

1. acquired Pixar..that will be paying dividends long down the road
2. turned ABC around
3. is opening a second park in one of the largest nations, fastest growing nations in the world.
4. Has added many new popular attractions, i.e. nemo, toy story mania
5. Yes, closed PI. I dont like that..but hes replacing it with a cash cow for the company..retail and restraurants
6. implemented new technologies throughout the park and company in general

If his main goal is to increase the wealth of the shareholders...well I think he did a pretty good job...the stock did go from like 20 bucks to a peak of 36...sure its declined since then..but thats not his fault...thats...well..a lot of politician and americans fault.

so I say pay the man...just make him pay for his own health club membership
