Always good to have an oil company exec on the forums, welcome!grumpyutboi wrote:Eco Friendly cars? NO THANKS! Why not have people run the track, that will expend some energy on the peoples part, ooops! Can't do that because of the carbon footprint that people will put out from breathing to heavy. We need to ban beans and broccoli as well, people produce to much methane gas from eating these item.
I like Soarin and the smells that go with the ride but having maybe another movie option would be cool. Nope can't do that because of the carbon footprint that will go into making the video. Disney is going to have to be careful of cap and trade and producing to much carbon.
Some rumors...

Well if you have seen footage of the tokyo disney sea attraction its kinda a combination of both. But definitly look up the mysterious island in tokyo disneysea the entire thing is dedicated to jules verne and 20k leagues under the sea. By the way it would go behind everest if what I heard is correct and I have seen that backstage area and there is a huge space there for them to put anything. All thats there is a warehouse full of tools to fix the attractions in that immediate area and outside has a bunch of old props like the old poacher car that used to shoot at you and an old carnator hide. Along with the boat docks which are never used. So they might make another MI for all I know. But lets not get our hopes up

Bravo! I enjoyed this post the most. Eco-friendly does not give me a tomorrowland feel. Ideas that feel like they're two generations from now is more inspiring.grumpyutboi wrote:Eco Friendly cars? I personally think that the Tomorrowland Speedway needs some kind of an upgrade. Putt-putting around in those little cars at the speed of a lawn tractor isn't all that impressive. I'm not saying they should drastically overhaul it, but it would be a good idea to replace the gasoline engines with electric ones and theme the attraction to match the rest of Tomorrowland.

Yea, I don't like to mow either.
Also agree, eco friendly.
I still think a cars concept here would work... what little guy wouldn't love to drive Light'n McQueen, or any of the other cars.?

I like the electric idea for the Speedway! Does anyone know when it stopped being the "Indy" Speedway? We noticed that on our most recent trip in Nov. They also took the Indy car away that used to sit in front of the ride. Being from Indiana and going to the Indy 500 every year, we thought it was cool to see that there. Did someone pull a sponsorship?!
Some more info regarding the rumored Space Mountain rehab for 2009.....the vacation planning package and DVD that you receive after booking through WDW includes park maps and the MK map does not show SM as an attraction for next year. There is no number for it on the legend and not even listed under the Tomorrowland attractions.

hmmm, that sounds promising(?). I mean even WoL was listed on the EPCOT Center map for years after it closed.99Soulz wrote:Some more info regarding the rumored Space Mountain rehab for 2009.....the vacation planning package and DVD that you receive after booking through WDW includes park maps and the MK map does not show SM as an attraction for next year. I just hope Space Mountain is open when I am there in 3 weeks because I know Splash Mountain will be down for maintenance. I don't think I could handle my two favorite thrills from MK being down while I am there.
I noticed too that Space Mountain was not labeled on the map that came with my Vacation packet.

Please... no more Pixar in Tomorrowland... pleasewdwannabe wrote: I still think a cars concept here would work... what little guy wouldn't love to drive Light'n McQueen, or any of the other cars.?This fits right in, the movie had a retro feel to it, so with the theme of Tomorrowland going in that direction anyway.... They could do this so darn cute! And who wouldn't agree they need more things for boys.

Build a dark ride around the track and make it part of Fantasyland instead of Tomorrowland Or even a dark ride for Tomorrowland, just not based on a cartoon. That'd be one heck of a long dark ride too but it'd be awesome. If you can dream it you can do it!....maybe...
