Tried to purchase the set at 1:30 p.m. Eastern, but when I went to check out I got this message:

Please Note
The item(s) listed below is no longer available and has been removed from your Shopping Cart.
''A Musical History of Disneyland'' 50th Anniversary 6 CD Box Set (#61499)

Any idea why that is?

**UPDATE** -- Never mind. It seems to be working now.

It shows 1 week to ship on the page, but checkout updates it to 4 weeks. Guessing that means it wont be the limited edition version. Oh well the music is the best part of it anyways.

Now that the checkout process seems to be working again, I'm getting the same shipping timeframe as you, Gizmata.

I'll be visiting Disneyland at the end of May. Does anyone know if they will be carrying it at the park at that time?

I would be guessing the LE's are gone already. I would expect them to make a ton of the 6-cd box sets, so they should have it, but then again I know nothing for sure.

In my opinion, buy now don't regret (or have to go to eBay) later.

Too late! Now I'm getting this message on the page: "Item #61499 is currently unavailable." Arrrgghhh!

Ha ha! I got it

Actually, sockfire told me about it in IM. I then got it then put it in the news.

I think Disney really underestamates how much people like this kind of audio. Yeah, they should pay me to run this site for them!

No kidding! And how about what a giant jackass I am?! I had the darn thing in my shopping cart and had to second guess myself because my trip to DL will be about the same time the collection was due to ship.

I guess there's no hope now of securing a limited edition set, eh? Except ebay, I suppose. [sigh]

Well, I missed out on the online route. Couldn't buy one at 2AM, and by the time I got to the GCH and got online, they were sold out. Plus, they don't seem to have any in the park. They CM working in the music store on main street was devoid of personality and full of bad information. First he said they were not made yet. When told that I know for certain that they had about 300 in the park yesterday, he said that they went out by mistake. Hmmm. Anyway, I will keep trying here, but Disney needs to get their communication and sales policies in order.

Thanks, Elvenfire! I checked back after you posted and sure enough, there it was again! So I quickly snatched one up and will sit patiently for the four weeks until it ships.

It was available with 1 week shippment for a while, then 4 week, then sold out, then available.

Seems they may be releasing more inventory as they go or something.

I managed to secure mine through DisneyDirect this morning :D YAY!

I think the limited edition could have been in the 10000 range and it would still be just as hard to find. The Disney people seriously underestimate the demand for this audio in a home entertainment format. Just like they underestimated home video until Eisner shoved it down their throats. (Yes, Eisner actually made some good decisions oh so long ago) 8)
