One Long or Several Short

Post by wdwannabe » Nov Tue 11, 2008 2:10 pm

Got to thinking from a past post I had read and thought do you like to request longer songs or more songs?

Do you like to play one long track or several shorter ones or do both?

Depends on the day. If I play a request during the week (which I rarely do anymore) I play a long track. On the weekend when there's less traffic I find myself playing shorter tracks, because I can play more of them.

It depends on whether or not my favorite long selections are available. I love to request the Illuminations Pre Show music, which is a 30 min track. But, if I can't listen to it, I am more than content to pick a couple of the little pieces from the long one.

I also agree with most of the people on here. It really depends on my mood on what I want to hear. Sometimes I just want to hear a nice variety so I'll request a couple of short tracks but sometimes like when I'm doing homework, I want to hear one long loop track so it will keep my mind relaxed while writing or studying or even just surfing the web.

i like to mix it up! Also, it depends on my mood at the time im requesting a track. Sometimes i like long tracks and sometimes i like short tracks. Unless its a long track that got cut up then i dont like that

personally, I like the long loops as opposed to the cut-up, individual tracks. I like the way that all the songs within the loop just sort of meld together. I'm not a fan of the breaks between tracks when they're all cut up...

Yeah a good example of that is the Living Seas Loop. I like how it all melds together compared to the individual tracks.

I mix it up all the time. There are days where I want to hear nothing but tracks from a certain land like Tomorrowland or New Orleans Square or I request a loop at a span of a few hours. For example, this past Saturday I requested the Horizons flow-through track then a few hours later I got the Monorail Resort loop then the Tower of Terror Hotel loop. I'm never picky with what I like to try out.

I like to listen to the longer tracks to get the full effect of the areas/events when time permits. The shorter tracks are great for a quick fix!!!!

Well I voted mix it up but in hind sight that's probably not entirely true. I usually look for my really long treasures (i.e. TOT full, WL full, WOL full etc) and if they're taken then I mix it up w/ several shorter tracks. Since usually I can only get one request block in during work I kinda want the most bang for my buck and would rather have 60+ minutes of music than 29.4 or whatever

To be honest i dont really request much, but rather listen to the selections that are in the queue. When i do though, i prefer having a random selection of smaller tracks to have a well rounded experience. I enjoy variety and going from place to place. Keeps things fresh for me

Well right now everyone is in favor of mixing it up. But, you also choose long and short songs at different times.

I usually look for my favorite long track and if it's taken I look for the singles, then, if those are taken I just look for my favorite ones, but I have too many I love!

It really depends on what is available. I usually go for the longer tracks first, but the longer tracks I really like are also really popular (like the Illuminations or Wilderness Lodge loops), so they're not available all the time. Usually, if I'm looking and none of the longer tracks are available, I will go for collections of some of my favorite shorter tracks (like the Tree of Life area tracks or the Chris Calabrese selections).

Depends on what I'm in the mood for. I really like a lot of the long loops, but sometimes I like to make shorter 'tours' of things for myself (say, one song from each country around World Showcase).

A lot of the music I hope to request in the future is the long loops either from park areas or resorts. From what I've heard on here so far that others requested, my favorites are usually the longer tracks (the Living Seas one the other night was amazing!).

I think that goes with how I am in terms of music in real life. I've never been a fan of mix CDs, really. I'd rather listen to an entire CD by one band or singer I really like rather than mix it up.
