WDW Christmas Day Parade

Post by gatorsx » Nov Wed 12, 2008 2:26 pm

Does anyone know what days they are filming the "Live" Christmas Parade and how we can get tickets??? They used to let Cast Members go in with just their ID's but now they are saying that everyone has to have a reservation for it.

This site looks like it has an answer to your question.

The folks at Lightship Entertainment, a local company that produces the show, were able to tell me that the tentative taping dates are Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 in the Magic Kingdom. Usually, one day is dedicated to filming the actual parade on Main Street, with celebrity hosts on a platform near the train station, and the other is for the musical guests performing on the Cinderella Castle stage.

I remember when I first learned that the parade wasn't live and was actually filmed much, much earlier than Christmas Day. It was weird, but I got over it. Man I can't wait to get back down there...less than 2 months away!

when i worked there back in 2001 they filmed all of the individual performances the entire month of November. I remember watching Mandy Moore in front of the castle wearing very warm clothes even though it was 80ish. I felt so bad for her!

I only recently learned that this parade is taped early in December. I guess that would make sense though. Since MK is already packed (and packed is an understatement) on Christmas Day, could you imagine what it would be like if they had the parade that day as well??
