I saw the body a few times in mid-October, so he's definitely hanging around now (forgive the pun .. couldn't resist).

We had a few really good CMs on our Not So Scary Halloween party night. On a whim, we got in line right at 12:00 when the park was closing and were the last group let in. The group in the stretch room only had about 5 people in it, including my and my husband. Because it was so empty/quiet, I wanted to linger to hear the whispering voices right at the end. Keep in mind all the CMs were dressed in the Halloween party zombie-ish make up.

So we're in the room right at the end and I'm slooooooowly walking to the other side of the room when they let us out, and my husband's looking at me like "Come on.." And I say "Wait I wanna hear the whispers." Now, I knew the CM was somewhere behind me because I like to pay attention to where they are after one scared the crap out of my mom one year. All of a sudden, right at the back of my head I hear hissing - hissing loud enough that it's moving my hair. He was riiiiight up against the back of my head. But I did get my whispers.

Then as we were so far behind, all the others had gone in the doombuggies already and all the CMs followed us right up to the end of the load area, staring into the buggy. We got the same treatment at the end of the ride. Lots of fun.

As soon as we passed the Servants' Quarters door, a fleet of cleaning CMs went in, too. Pretty cool way to end the night.

This is slightly off topic, okay totally off topic, but there was once about fifteen years ago we lingered for almost an hour after the park closed, just listening to the music and enjoying the park without anyone else in it. It was awesome and a little creepy, but the best part is when security came around with dogs. Dogs! They sicked the dogs on us. I don't know if they still do this, but at that time security would go through the park with dogs to make sure no one was hiding somewhere in the park. They escorted us to the exit.

That's kind of hilarious. We've stayed to watch the Goodnight Kiss at the castle, and the zomg-huge explosion on the barges at Epcot, but I've yet to stay long enough to see the dogs.

Wow I have never seen them with dogs before...at least in EPCOT. Since I always worked till 1am every night, I always saw security checking to make sure that everyone had left the park (usually 2 hours after closing) but I still never saw dogs. Maybe it's different for Magic Kingdom because there are more pathways where people can hide?

It was also fifteen years ago. Disney may have gotten rid of the dogs because of liability. People sue a lot more nowadays than they did back then. The dogs weren't aggressive or anything, but they were intimidating.

Wait, what is the "Goodnight Kiss?"

Back on topic I can't wait to see the changes! HM is one of my faves and we'll be there in a week :) I'm so excited.

Goodnight Kiss is a light show - not in the laser/Illuminations sense, just changing lights on the castle - that happens about an hour after the park closes, usually coinciding with the closing of Main Street. It has a little bit of audio with the Fab Five saying goodnight (or it did last time I saw it... it's been a while).

It's the very polite signal to get the heck outta the park.

As for seeing the changes: Make sure to notice how the footsteps correspond to the candles in the staircase room. Very cool. :)

I was just at MK on October 17. The refurb at HM was very, very good. WDI did a wonderful job with the project. If I had to pick only one ride to go on at MK this would be it. I didn't notice the footsteps in the staircase room. I need to go back again asap! :)

THANK YOU! It was driving me crazy! Did they make any changes to it? Or is it the same bore fest?

Hey now...I actually still find it entertaining. It's good old fashioned comedy. Of course I missed it on my last trip but I am hoping to see it this coming January. It will be opened then right? Talk about a great way to rest your legs and be entertained. Plus, who can say no to an attraction with Thurl Ravenscroft's voice in it?

Touche on Thurl, but maybe I saw CBJ for the first time at too old an age. My son seemed relatively entertained and my wife liked it, but it was not for me. It is on the maybe list, at best, for our trip next month.

It reopened last week I think. I am excited to see it post refurb. The last time I saw it, it was in desperate need of help.

That is a great HM story. For some reason the CM's on this attraction, IMO, play their role perfectly.

You mean to tell me that they clean HM? When I was there it looked like they did a bad job dusting and missed a few cobwebs! :D :goofy_bounce:
