I'm gonna give it a try and guess the father from Carousel of Progress.
Are we there yet? When can we go back?
I don't know what's worse, the anticipation of going or the withdrawals after getting home.

Actually, I'm almost positive it's Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story Mania. Since I'll be away from the computer for several days, let someone else post the next question if that answer is correct....

Where did the inspiration for the Walt Disney World Monorail come from?

Haha, very true

, but yodiwan got it. If I was really evil, I would ask for the specific town it came from

. Anyway, it was inspired by the Wuppertahl Monorail. You're up, yodiwan!

actually, Spodie, that is incorrect. the Wuppertal monorail is a suspended train (rail on the top), not a straddle-beam like the Disneyland/WDW system. The actual answer is in Germany, but closer to Cologne, in a town called Fühlingen. the original was built by Alweg-Forschung, GmbH (Alweg Research Corporation). the original Disneyland trains were created to look like the old Buck Rogers shows, then updated when they came to WDW.

Hmm. Interesting. It seems like we may be saying the same things, but differently. Walt saw an updated version of the Wuppertahl train while on vacation in Germany in the '50s, so the Wuppertahl was the original inspiration. I don't know. It's too late to start researching it, but I'll see if I can dig anything up tomorrow.
