Who says the price will be different then? They already said that even though they are taking the characters out of LTT, th menu and PRICE stay the same.

i think they should keep character meals at LTT because not that many people associate the LTT with character meals and they would only think the castle has them.

My wife and I don't have kids, so we can take the character meals or leave them, quite honestly. We eat at the Garden Grill whenever we're in EPCOT because the food is so good. When we were there on our honeymoon, Pluto got a little too fresh with my wife and she had to warn him to back off. The last time we were there, I asked one of the Chipmunks (can't remember if it was Chip or Dale) if the meat on my plate was anyone they knew. They didn't come back.

Ain't I a stinker?

Yeah I think you are. I'm the youngest in my family (age 18) and we enjoy the character meals. I know last time at Garden Grill Chip was huge fan of Rutgers. My brother was wearing a Rutgers shirt and Chip started acting like a knight. Also, Pluto stole our bread. These small things really make the meal memorable and it is a shame to see the character meals getting cut.

We love the Garden Grill as well. My mom went with us on our last trip and she had her back to the characters as they approached. They all got a kick out of startling her since she didn't know they were coming. My son was laughing so hard!

I love to see the little kids react to the characters. However, if the restaurants have to cut back on something for budgetary reasons, I'd rather it be the characters than the quality of the food.

When we go in December, we have ADRs for character meals booked for 4 out of 7 dinners we have there. I did this because the last character meal we did was on the Empress Lilly in '92 on my first visit (which I vaguely remember). As I've stated before, we aren't a big table-service family because we would rather spend our time in the parks, so we always say we're going to do more table-service meals on our next trip but never get around to it. But hey, who can say no to Free Dining, so here we are. I can't wait to see all the characters and get pictures with them - it should be a really great trip!!

As someone who always eats at Norway (pre -princess and current state) I can say that the addition of the Princesses has not influenced the price. At least not at this eatery. The price may have gone up by like $5/person or something but that's over the course of several years, and the menu being re-worked to be less of an all-you-can-eat buffet to a meal + all-you-can-eat side bar.

In 2003, my wife and I, along with our daughters ate our evening meal in The Land. They had a program there where we renewed our wedding vows (25 yrs). The characters and staff made a big ceremony and gave us a certificate. I don't know if they still do it but it was alot of fun. :D

Restaurant in the land are one of my favorite place to eat. Unfortunately I never even tried LTT. Foodwise magic kingdom is in lack of quality food tho :( . this is my opinion off course. But the best restaurant are either in epcot or mgm (50 prime time cafe is one of my favorite of all time)

Diebolds, it was called a rehitching ceremony. They haven't done this since before 2005. You probably caught the end of the program. I heard you had to hold you breath when they tell you to kiss, lol.

As for the LTT.. I don't think it's a rumor I think it's a done thing. We have had ressies for LTT every year for the last five years and every year we cancelled due to various reasons. So this past October I found out that the characters were leaving and we made it a priority. We had fun, especially since we were there for MNSSHP and we got to see the characters in costume. And the mashed potatoes were amazing!

That is really sad. We enjoyed the characters at LTT. We actually cancelled or reservation there since the characters will be gone. We prefer to see our characters at the dining experiences since if we are going to wait, I'd rather be doing something constructive like eating while I wait our turn. besides they always seemed to have a little more time with us and it was so much more interactive.

Other than that, it was a draw to the sit downs... The food quality has been slipping and it added something. Now I'd rather just go back to my room and cook something. (thank you DVC!)

It has been a while since the original post was put up, does anyone know if this is becoming a reality?
I am planning a trip to the World in February, and there is one person in our party who will be really disappointed if it is.
I listen to a weekly Disney podcast, adn there was no information about this on there. The podcaster is usally really good at scooping news.

So is it true? Are the characters leaving LTT?

Gee I hope not, we always make it a point to get a dinner there and we love the characters. During MNSSHP I made a mistake and said the wrong name (think I called Chip, Dale or the other way around) and they made a point (one of them had a play sword) of making me aware that they were not happy with me which amused my nephew and the surrounding tables a lot
It's these little memories that add so much to a Disney trip.

Sadly today is the last day for Liberty Tree characters PLEASE write e-mails, send letters, those of us who love it both as guests, and those of us who have worked there hate to see this happen!! I talked to one of the waiters and the managers a couple weeks ago and they said reservations have gone WAY done past today when the characters leave, the restaurant doesn't want them to leave either and they are handing out an e-mail adress directly to disney managers, I will post the adress soon we have a chance of saving them. When I was eating there we had an entire section of the restaurant including wait staff saying "you can take our money but not our characters" lol people love the characters, I know I do and although the food is great the main reason my family goes to Liberty Tree is to see the characters : ) All the memories that are there should inspire the company to keep the characters, and Walt said it was all started by a mouse. Why are we taking the Disney out of Disney? :( It is very sad but there is a chance we can save them the restaurant staff is working very hard and is on the side of the guests which definitely helps :)
