Is your spouse/SO as big of a Disney freak as you?

Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

No dice here. She thinks it's foolish. Took her last year with my family. She still doesn't understand it.... Although she loved World Showcase, that was about it.

No way in this world will my husband ever come close to me for the "Disney freak" title. He can't understand why I would want to always choose WDW as a vacation destination, why I would want to stay as long as I do or go on the rides multiple times, why I listen to Subsonic "24/7". He does not get "IT". He likes Disney, but he is the kind of person who will say "one trip is more than enough". Too bad he misses out on the fun!!!! Fortunately, my kids are like me, because they are Disney freaks as well.

My wife enjoys visiting WDW, but she's definitely not an EPCOT freak like I am. Generally, she just wants to ride the rides and skip the post-show area. If I try to linger at all, it generally earns me an annoyed glare.

Nope, never, not even close. In fact, he can't even comprehend it, but he has gotten over it and now just shakes his head when he gets in my car and "one little spark" or "It's A Small World" start playing.

My wife and I are pretty equal in our love of the WDW (still the only park either of us has been to) but she out freaks me on the movies. I like lots of them, but not to the level that she does. Though I didn't got to school to be an animator, like she did, so I suppose that's to be expected.

Hmmm, this is a good question. This may take a bit of explaining to get to the bottom of it.

I have always been a fan of Disney, parents took us on about 5 trips when I was a child, we then bought into the DVC way back when it began at OKW (even before it was called OKW, was just called the DVC Resort). We bought into it because my older brothers started having their families so we've been going down every year since from 1995. I always enjoyed the trips, but was in my college years then and may not have had the same experiences as my brothers since we were in different times of our lives.

But shrtly after that, around 1998, I met my wife who began taking the trips with us. Now, she is and always was a Disney Nut. All of my neices and nephews wanted to be with her in the parks because she enjoys it so much. Back then, there was no comparison, my wife was the freak.

Now, 10 years later, we still try to go each year, and I definitely am the one that is pushing to go, planning when/where to stay, talking about it when it's still 6 mos. away, oh and.....listening to subsonic!!

I will say though, that having someone with you that "gets it" makes it even better. My guess is that I bet more so than not, significant others that didn't "get it" before have been transformed like myself.

Well, for me its kinda weird. I was a fan of Disneyland when i was a child and loved going there every single time. Eventually as time pressed on I grew out of it and liked roller coasters better. Then I met my wife and she absolutely loved poohbear and loved going to Disneyland. So I took her several times and as those times kept getting more and more frequesnt, I started to develop my taste for the parks. Now we both love going and try to get AP's every year.

So we are both pretty big fans of Disney. I guess you can say it took her for me to rekindle that love I had when I was a kid. Wouldnt change anything!

My dh is a thrill ride freak. He does like theme parks and amusement parks. At age 51 he can still ride the wild ones too! I gave up about 10 years ago on those dizzy spining coasters! I am the Disney freak in our family and I am turning my son into one too!

We definitely do. But I claim the right to say that I got her into it. She had been to Disneyland a couple of times as a kid. But I took her and got her hooked.

Now we feed off of each other's excitement and have taught our son to be the same way. My daughter has declared that she doesn't like WDW but likes Disneyland, and thinks that we are nuts. That's ok we know that she's the weird one

I know I posted in here earlier, my husband is a Disney junkie, just like me. I've created a monster, we just hope that someday when we do have a child....we can instill that same magic in them. I guess just start them off really young, like my parent's did.

Do any of you fellow Subsonicers have children that are not into Disney but you are?

My hubby likes Disney, but he is not nearly as big of a fan as I am. Luckily we get to go once a year due to a friend of ours who has a yearly trip every February. We don't have to twist his arm too much to get him to go, hahaha!!!

My wife doesn't understand my obsession of Disney at all but she wants to go to Disney World because I want to. She's an "intellectual" who wants to travel the world and she doesn't think much of amusement or theme parks. We never went together and she only went once as a teen and did not see much because it was her aunt's business trip. I went all the time as a kid but there are still some things I never did at Disney, such as eat at table-service restaurants , visit Animal Kingdom, or stay on property.
I'm hoping that she'll come around when we actually go visit Disney World. My 13 month old son is really into Playhouse Disney so if she doesn't come around, my son and future kids will "force" us to go.
