What attraction would you like to see return to DHS?

Post by rknrlrcstr » Oct Sun 19, 2008 4:22 pm

OK, this topic may exist already, my apologies if it does.

The question at hand is what attraction from Disney Hollywood Studios (aka Disney-MGM Studios) would you like to see returned? Or alternately, what attraction do you wish they never eliminated?

My own personal choice would be Superstar Television. I always loved how each show was different based upon the guests chosen to take part.

I was lucky enough to be chosen one time. I was selected for the Three Stooges scene. I nearly forgot my line, but at least I can go around and tell people that I got into a pie throwing fight with Curly. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!

What are your choices and what memories of these attractions do you have?
Are we there yet? When can we go back?

I don't know what's worse, the anticipation of going or the withdrawals after getting home.

I loved the Superstar Television!!! When I was a kid I was picked to be Thurston Howell III from GIlligans Island. It's one of my favorite memories from growing up!

Monster Sound Show....

My parents volunteered for this and we have it on video tape. My mom did the first act, where she made the sound of thunder, rain, and lightning...while my dad did the second act where he had to do the voice of Martin Short's character, He did some other things too but he was pretty good with the voice. Actually he couldnt find the button to make the sound for the bomb explosion so after the bomb blew up, he just screamed out BOOM. It had the audience laughing both times....when they were recording the sounds and when they reshowed it everyone to see it again.

I don't even remember goosebumps...Where and what was this attraction in DHS?
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

I don't remember Superstar Television. Not sure why we never did that attraction. But my fav. was Monster Sound Show, I was chosen once, chickened out so my cousin did it instead of me. LOL. I love Martin Short and Chevy Chase, I thought it was a fun attraction. I don't like what they put in it's place. BLAH! Some things should be left alone.

I thought that the Hunchback show was one of the best live shows at Disney. For a while there was a guy who did a really great juggling act before the show.

I miss Residential Street and I think it'd be great to revive the backlot tour by giving people stuff to actually SEE!

I know this isn't an attraction, but I would like to bring back the Stars and Motorcars Parade. I loved the tune to that parade, even if the motorcade was a little lacking. It also reminds me of my internship.

Also, Block Party Bash is all right, but it doesn't fit into the tiny parade route it needs to follow.

I agree with this also. The Backlot gets worse and worse every year. And while I like the Christmas lights on NY street, it felt more homey when they were on the suburban houses.

I totally agree with you Lion. Stars & Motorcars Parade was such a better parade. BPB has way too much energy for me, I feel like I'm on speed when I watched it, though I have only seen it once so maybe I need to experience it for a second viewing before I critique it.

Now my question to you all who answered....

Would you want to get rid of the attraction that replaced the attraction that you chose or do you just miss the attraction and don't mind its replacement

For example: I would LOVE to see Monster Sound Show come back and get rid of the show thats in its place now, which is "Sounds Dangerous"....more like "Sounds Awful"

I also don't mind TSM being in the same building as Millionare but I wouldnt mind seeing it back in another building.

Get rid of Block Party Bash. They should have kept it in DCA.

I remember seeing the Monster Sound Show when I was little. It was hilarious. Would love to see that back again. I liked Millionaire too, but that'd get my vote.

A minor miracle would have to occur to get me on the backlot tour again so I don't care what they do out there at the moment. >_>

I think I'm gonna go with Millionaire. It was a pretty interesting show and I had fun doing those fastest finger questions.
