For the long timers, it's more of a community than just a place to listen to music. Dr. Ravenscroft is a chat regular :) I've met him too, he's cool. The 5th Anniv meet should be fun to meet a lot more of you!

this is true. I haven't really listened to the station in a long time, yet I still come here for the fun discussions and community feeling.

That, and being an admin had certain responsibilities that I don't want to shirk...

I'm not much of a chatter, and this computer is so old the chat probably wouldn't work on it anyways. though, when there's a live DJ chat, I'll usually join in, given enough notice.

and, related to the community aspect of the site, I've also met the good Dr., and also knedeau in person. I'm really hoping to get the money together for a trip out there in Feb. I've had some recent good news that may make it much easier to do so, given that I attend a seminar while there...

anyways, it's interesting to see where everyone learned of the site.

How did I fond Subsonic?

My boss at work told me about it. He's as much into Disney as I am.

When I first listened it was great. Being able to hear the music that made me feel as though I was there was awesome.
Are we there yet? When can we go back?

I don't know what's worse, the anticipation of going or the withdrawals after getting home.

I regularly search the nets for Disney music, especially park and ride background music (thank you for Soarin!) ... this was a happy happenstance. I hardly ever listen to Live365 any more.

I found this site a LONG time ago when I did a Google search for Disneyland Sound sites and this page showed up and I've been addicted ever since.

My daughter was a big fan for a while. Then, I had the chance to really listen to it for a while, and I have been hooked ever since.

It sounds like most people ran into this site the same way that I did - searching for Disney audio files. I was looking for a Tomorrowland area music MP3 and I ran into Subsonic in Google.

Subsonic has become my Friday at work treat and sometimes evenings and weekends.

My brother introduced me to this site when trying to tease me about his (then) upcoming trip to WDW. He has since stopped visiting for the music - bet he never thought he'd fed my addiction!

Wow! I, like most people it seems, found it looking for a Disney track online. I was looking for the Luminaria music I have been hearing much about lately.

I listened to a lot of music that I found through shoutcast and a while ago I would search for Disney each day and tune into whatever took my eye that particular day. I heard the "chat with other listeners" jingle a few times and noticed that most days it was subsonic that I had picked from the list created by shoutcast. I just listened for months and then one day I decided to sign up to the forums. I have never looked back since
1980, 2000, 2005 and 2008 all had plenty of magic. Hoping for a bit more in 2010.

You know Rodders, that brings up an interesting point. Perhaps I should add a commercial that says. "If you sign up for Subsonic Radio you can make requests" -- something to that extent.

My DW who is Baloo1320 on the Dis and Lodge boards told me about Sub in 2006. They had a long tread about it. I've been listening/posting/ and on occasion chatting ever since. As a matter of fact this is the only board I post or chat on.

I was so proud when I reach 1200 post. Then I looked at my DW on her boards and on one she is over 12000 post. Imagine how much music you could play with that total!

PS if you goggle Baloo images, my DW's picture comes up on page 2. She's the picture with the Disney Baloo CM.

I guess after this post she has moved up in the Google ranks. She now comes up as the number two image.
