Least Crowded Time of the Year?
I'm very familiar with disneyworld and it's crowd cycles, but I've only been to DisneyLand once ever. Some of my friends and I are planning to roadtrip to Disneyland and we're hoping to go during a less crowded season. When might that be? It's definitely mid january in FL, but we're driving from CO to CA and that means crossing the mountains, so we're hoping to find a time that's not midwinter.

It depends because the Haunted Mansion Holiday would be around by then. Try looking around this page on the Disneyland site.

My family has gone around the second week of November. It is a great time because they are decorating for the Christmas season and the lines are not yet getting long (as I heard they can be around Thanksgiving). Although I would like to go between Thanksgiving and Christmas so we can see the Christmas parade and fireworks, etc.

I agree whole heartedly with January February. But the one thing you have to be careful of is the ride closures. This is the best time for Disneyland to close rides due to the low crowd volume. So you will see more refurbs and updates during this time. But on the plus side you can sometimes get in before anyone else does, with a soft opening.Josh Q wrote:From my experiences the absolute best time is late January early February. But September is also a great time to go. And if you can catch it on a day where it rains in the morning then clears up in the afternoon its amazing.

We asked a cast member about this once, and they suggested March, as long as you plan to go just before the Spring Break crowd gets out, and prior to Easter.
We've had pretty good success with this, as the weather is usually nice. Spring is just getting started, so it's usually warm, but not too hot. Crowds aren't too heavy and most rides are operational.
Have a good time!
