Happy Birthday DAK!

Post by kgmadorin » Apr Fri 22, 2005 7:44 am

FYI--Today (April 22, 2005) Disney's Animal Kingdom is celebrating it's 7th birthday.

It's amazing to think about how much that park has evolved in seven years, and even more amazing to imagine what changes will have taken place when DAK celebrates its 50th. Remember, if this were Disneyland's 7th b-day, it would only be 1962!

Anyway, Happy Earth Day to you all and Happy Birthday to the Animal Kingdom!

Quite amazing [and extremely appropriate for Earth Day] - just think of where it will be by it's 10th B-day...

7... 7?!? Wow that did go quick. I remember going there a few months after it opened too.

Lets see what they do in the next few years when they reach 10.

I remember seeing AK for the first time on Sabrina, The Teenage Witch back in 1998/99 when that show was in the lineup for TGIF on ABC.

Happy Birthday Animal Kingdom!!!

I remember I went to Walt Disney World with my family just as the Animal Kingdom was opening. We were so excited to see a new park there. It truly has come a far way from seven years ago. It keeps on getting better and better. I really CANNOT wait for Animal Kingdom's new installment, Expedition Everst, it's going to be great!!!

Wow, that IS hard to believe. We went the first year it opened, too, and it seems like yesterday. It really has evolved since then, and is still growing. I really love the place and can't wait to get back--EE is gonna be great!!!

I agree, it is extremely hard to believe. It has evolved in a ton of ways. A lot of people say that the Animal Kingdom is their least favorite part of Walt Disney World, but I try to stay optimistic and I still enoy it. It has a very nice atmosphere, I love the Asian and African theme going on. The rides could be improved on, but I think that EE will definitely make up for it.

I can't believe AK has been opened that long already. It seemed like just yesterday that it opened.
