I have two regrets.
1) not buying the Submarine Voyage vintage attraction poster at Disneyland last summer. I have a new place, and an empty space just right for that poster. Argh.
2) not buying a brick for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary. Kills me each time I walk to the gates.

So when I first saw this thread, I didn't really think that I have any regrets. But after thinking about it, I think my one regret is that I've never really taken the time to enjoy the parks. Where we're not one of those hard-core families that you see running through the parks trying to get everything in (you know, the families we all hate), we just get on Disney overload when we get there
. We've just bought annual passes and are going to spend 8 days during the middle of December (before the week of Christmas) there, so we have plenty of time to soak it all in. And, hey, if we don't get it all in on this trip, then we can always come back - we have the passes for a year
.

Wow when was that? I wish I could have.

We never feel as if we've done it "just right." This last time, we felt the parks were too hurried (we brought a friend for my daughter, who had very different tastes than the rest of us. We accommodated her as much as we could, which meant lots of rides and visits that were not the best fun for us. I think next time we'll let our dear daughter be a "loner" and spend the time with poor old mama and papa ... I think we'll do it up even better.
And, since we are now camping, we want to spend more time at the campground and not at the parks, oddly enough!
And non-expiration ... a great invention we'll do next time!

Watercountry. Isn't that the name of the now-defunct waterpark on an island in 7 Seas Lagoon? I wish we had gone there before it closed.

River Country was the name of the water park, and it is/was located on a pathway between Ft. Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. The island you're thinking of is Discovery Island, which was a wildlife refuge until Animal Kingdom opened.WVParkfan wrote:Watercountry. Thanks for clearing that up.
Now then, I have TWO regrets then. Not going to Rivercountry, and not visiting Discovery Island before both closed.

My regret on my next trip in a week, If I dont do it, will be to go to
1) Pleasure Island one last time before it closes. My regret would be right now is that I didn't visit Adventurers Club more often. I've only been there twice (once when I was younger and once last year).
2) See the Pocahontas show in Animal Kingdom before that closes... I saw it once during my CP and it was nothing fantastic but my friend hasnt seen it and we agreed that even if the show sucks, we should see it since it will never be around again haha

Bit of regret, bit of a lesson learned.
We tried the DDP this past trip to try to make dining easier for us. Unfortunately yours truly can't pass up any opportunity to maximize on savings. Because DD was 10 and considered an adult (she eats less than most kids half her age), I found myself focussed on ensuring we used dining credits to our advantage. Also, again wanting to maximize on savings and eat at more expensive establishments, our dining choices drove out touring plans more than I would have liked. Up front planning took care of most of this until illness hit DW and DD while we were at WDW, derailing some of our plans. We had to scramble to make ADR changes at last minute.
We did, however, get to eat at Jiko (to use up extra credits). This was definately a highlight for DW and I, although not a wise use of dining creditss, IMO.
Overall, the DDP gave us the opportunity to try different restaraunts we wouldn't normayy eat at, but it's not for us as a family. In the end, it cost us more than paying OOP on past trips while eating at comparible establishments.

my biggest regret will come up when I go to WDW on the 30th.
I have always said I would go to Pleasure Island and just never have made it overthere. I finally have the time to go and it'll close 3 days before I get there.

I am not sure this is a regret because there is not always a way to knwo for sure, but if I knew that one of my favorite attractions was going to be re-done, or compeltely changed, I would love just to spend a day doing nothing but that attraction. I would take 100s of pics, soak in every accpect I can. I wish I could have one day just to do the following rides/shows all day long for 24 hours: Horizons, WOM, Original SE, Original JII, Captain EO, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Tarzan Rocks, Dreamflight, and all fo the other former airplace rides(If you had Wings & I tihnk it was once something else as well). Oh, and I would have dole whips all day long!!!

I regret talking my dad out of going on Horizons when I was a little girl. If I had known it was going to be 16 years before I got back and that it wouldn't be there the next time I went I would have ridden it!! Now I have to settle for youtube reinactments of the ride.

I regret being so focused on getting a good spot for Wishes on my last trip when we went to MK that I forgot about Spectromagic. Because I forgot about Spectro, we took too long getting out of Main St Station and got trapped by the parade, thus losing about 45min of our EMH night. A lesson I will not soon forget.
