Last September, we went to WDW and my husband was sent to Boston for a month for work immediately after our trip. We knew ahead of time, and it was nice to have another "trip" planned to get over the loss.

Ironically Boston is on the New England Cruise we are taking.

I see what you are saying. We are going to the Mets game tomorrow and I can say that for the first time in two weeks I am excited again. It feels good knowing that you have something to do that is once again out of the norm.

My sister-in-law often gets her own going home face

I always take a last look back on the last night, in the last park I've been in, which is usually MK. Somehow in my heart I know I'll be back to Disney, and if I never return, I know that Disney somehow will always be in my heart. Sounds sweet enough to attract ants.

But it keeps me from making the going home face.

I Have a going home face. It's a cross between leaving and knowing I have to go back to work.

Yes, I have a going home face, when I get my scanner connected, I will post my going home face. It's a big boo-boo lip with teary eyes. I have to hold back crying on the Magical Express back to the airport. Leaving is so sad.

Wow, I'm glad to know that some other people suffer clinical depression like symptoms for a day or two after leaving Disney. It depresses me too when I see people just getting there and they have the look that I had when I first arrived. Such is the cycle of life.

Good point. And this might be the subject of a spin-off survey - when is the best time to leave, early morning (cold turkey) or late in the day (cramming more magic in.)

For me, I think leaving early would make it easier, but since I am not a morning person I just end up being more grumpy.

Honestly, we leave early in the morning and it is horrible. It makes the last night in the parks that much more depressing. We were in MK on the last night and I found extremely difficult to walk back down Main Street that last time. And when you leave your resort it is still very tough. You see the sun out and you just want to run right into the pool or jump on the bus to the park.

Either way you look at it, it's bad!

i cry or sometimes get really sick and barf! it's one of the worst parts of the trip. the only thing that keeps me happy is the fact that i'll be going to disney six months later. it's always like that.

yeah lol i always have that face when we leave

On the way back home i always ask "when are we coming back?"

I think the best time is to leave in the morning! We always try to squeeze in one last park or Downtown Disney again in on the last day. It makes leaving soooo hard!

I'd say my "Going Home Face" is a mixture of being sad my time at WDW is over, and the realization that I'm flat broke and need to go earn more money so I can start the cycle over again in the future.
