and plus they don't like it when you are slightly inuberated on the tours and keep aiming for the older people in the scooter and try to race them to test track
The thing about segways is that they balance for you. You might be able to ride one. When I rode one, the first instinct was to try to balance, but you have to let the machine do it for you.

dug this out of the archives rather than start a new thread.

We booked our tour for this trip! Wife comes out of nowhere with...i'd like to do that segway thing...look into it and book it for us!.... usually she's like...i don't care i just don't want to make any decisions. (we work in insurance and she is the big cog in our machine"

Which one did you sign up for? The 2 hour tour before WS opens or the 1 hour during the day?
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

I loved this tour, and will definately be doing it again next trip (assuming it's still there if/when I can get back down there). Though I hate getting up early, I would choose the morning version. You get alot of facts about the countries you visit, and alot of great photo opportunities of WS with noone else in them.

we chose the ultra early 7:45 tour (2 hours) figure the teens will still be sleeping. we havn't told them we are doing this tour...just told them we are sneaking out early morning to get them a suprize.

I loved this too. Hope to get on it again sometime. We had a lot of fun rolling over hoses while they cleaned up WS before opening. And getting gawked at by people when we rolled back into FW on the way back to where we started, after getting the speech about how we're representing the tour/WDW and if anyone asks questions to politely refer them to the cast members for more information. Good times. :D

I've done all of the other world showcase tours but yet to try the segway tour, supposedly it is the longest (in time) tour in epcot? Looks fun!

I've got to try this. (and drag the DW along)
Thanks to everyone above for the info.

Adding "loose 40 lbs before next trip" to my checklist! I would love to go on the segway tour! sounds like it'll be really cool!

We did the tour a few years ago, but it was absolutely a fun experience. I would recommend the early tour because it's great to be Segwaying (?) around World Showcase before it opens to the general public.

I have taken this tour, it was amazing. Much better than a two minute ride in innoventions. After the learning curve you will be well away. A tip for people with balance problems we had one in our party that couldn't get the hang of it very well, there is an introduction course for about $30 so you get more time on the segway. My friend benefited massivly from this and was fine when he took the tour.

I have not been to Epcot in a while, I think it's been about 2 yrs but I took advantage of a section in innoventions where they gave a demonstration show of the Segway, and at the end let everyone have a little test drive on a segway about 50 ft down turn around and come back. The best part of it was that it was FREE!!!
If you just want to test one out to help you decide if you want to pay for a tour I'd suggest you check into this and see if they still have it. :mickey:
