Country Bear Jamboree will be closed

Post by metsofny » Jul Tue 15, 2008 2:50 pm

Allears.net is reporting that Country Bear Jamboree will be closed for refurbishment from September 28 - October 31, 2008. Does any one know if this is for a repair-cleaning or if this is a major refurb. I love this show and hope nothing is changed.

I hope they change 95% of it, then maybe I will go see it again. But I have no idea, to answer your question.

It is a good show, very "old" Disney (i.e. jungle cruise, et al). The attraction does need some major work done though. The audio system in the theatre is terrible and the animatronics are just old. The body coverings are worn out.

When (and for how long) do they close it to switch to the Christmas show?

It is only closed a short time to decorate. And they wouldn't switch over at Halloween (I wouldn't think so anyway).

Well for the last year (maybe two) they haven't do the christmas show. They just left it as normal.

I bet Pooh is foreclosing on them. I mean the little cuddly bear is a money machine (he sells more merchandise than Mickey [seriously].) And the country bears movie didn't do so well. He closed them down in DLR I hear.

I know, the music is too loud and their voices too soft. Pretty much the only song I do understand is "Blood on the Saddle."

I love this show. I hope they don't change a thing, unless its to repair it, which it could really use some repairs. Its almost a classic and its one of my favorites.

I believe it is just getting some TLC that this attraction defnitely needs...

:o   I am now going to have to go into therapy! First Pocahontas goes then Country Bears may change forever. I know they are not all 'must sees' but they are fun and just a little different from the more popular attractions.

PLEASE DO THE CHRISTMAS SHOW, WE AND THOUSANDS OF OTHERS HAVEN'T SEEN IT!

I haven't heard of a major change. Lets just hope they are upgrading the audio and sprucing up the bears. The show looked slightly ragged the last few times I have seen it. The audio needs a major upgrade.

It would be nice if they brought back the Christmas show, but I don't see that happening as its been gone for over 2 years now. :(

From what I understand of it, the audio system is getting a boost up as the speaker system is the original (from '71). and some of the animatronics were kinda jumpy in 2006 when we went, so they may be getting some TLC as well.

Oh I hope nothing changes. This is one show that I go to time and again just to bring back great childhood memories. I would hate to see the overall show change, but it does need TLC.
