I have never been on Mission Space because I am afraid it could impact my asthma. I have been told by several people to stay away. Has anyone out there ridden MS with bad asthma? I have also never ridden TOT because of the same reason. You have no idea how badly I want to try these rides, but if I get scared I tend to have an asthma attack.

I've never ridden MS, but a couple of colleagues have. One said that it was "great... no big deal". When I told my other friend what he'd said of the ride, she said, "He's an idiot!"
She said it was "the worst 6 minutes of [her] life!" She said she couldn't wait to get off. As you have all said, she said she felt very claustrophobic (or however you spell it!) and motion sick from the spinning.
I love roller coasters, the "sling shot" in DL, Tower of Terror, etc., but I think I'll pass on this one. I'm way too timid.

I guess I'll go with the majority. I loved this ride, especially because I've always fancied space travels.
It makes you feel like you're experiencing the real thing...
I did not get sick at all but I don't have motion sickness. I thought I would feel bad about the "tightness" (I'm not claustrophobic but I don't really enjoy coffin-like places) but I did not at all. The AC is working at full speed, so you don't realize it's so small.

On my first trip to Epcot after MS opened I rode 3 times in a row until my insides felt "scrambled" then I stopped and I now go on it at least twice every time I go. I hate rollercoasters but love MS. I have not been since they added the toned down version and don't desire to ride it toned down I love the original version.

I ride it everytime I go to WDW. Even if it isn't an EPCOT day, I make it a whatever-park-I-am-devoting-my-day-to-plus-Mission-Space day. I have ridden the "less intense" version only once because I went with a friend who has equalibrium issues (she has been advised not to ride any simulators, but doesn't listen to her physicians). I like the "original" version of the ride much more. And if I may make a side note, I am impressed that this thread was dug out of the moth balls almost three years after the last post. MISSION SPACE IS AWESOME. Of course I would have prefered it go somewhere else (like the WOL pavillion) just to keep Horizons.

My wife and I road the "Green Team" less intense version once too. We did it so we could know what it's like when people ask, since we are the resident Disney experts in our circle of friends.
Over the weekend I saw something on the Science Channel talking about a mission to Mars. And one of the scientist they where interviewing was talking about G forces, and said "You can't subject humans to 6Gs, people pass out on rides in Florida at 2Gs for 2 minutes." I was like could you be talking about ohh I don't know MISSION:SPACE?!

I was on this attraction when they were testing it. My brother stayed off and talked to someone standing by the exit with a clipboard counting the number of people visitng the wastepaper basket. I survived it and really enjoyed the attraction that I go on it everytime I am there. However, when it was being tested I did not feel right for a good ten minutes after getting off the attraction. I do get the motion sickness feeling during the launch, but I thoroughly enjoy it.
The newer toned down version feels to me like Star Tours. It just does not give you any thrill at all.
