Best Times for Smallest Crowds
Are there any times to visit WDW when the crowds are minimal? We have ALWAYS gone during the busy summer months or holidays. I have "heard" about small crowds during September...can it be true?

Early September (but after Labor Day) and between Thanksgiving and mid December are good or directly after a major hurricane, very hard to plan and not fun at all. We arived in WDW the day after Hurricane Charley in 2004 and didn't have to wait for any ride in MK. The next day we went to MGM (as it was then) and it was almost empty - we were the only people on Streets of America and had the playground to ourselves. Very spooky!

We've gone done on SuperSunday before, and even with the extra cheerleaders it didn't feel crowded. You would only know it's a sporting sunday, because of the crowds at the ESPN Zone.
Also the week AFTER thanksgiving is very quite, as others have said.

I do SuperBowl Sunday every year, and no the cheerleaders don't make a big difference. I usually do MK on that day, and have been able to ride every ride (of course that takes some planning and a good knowledge of the park layout).
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

The time surrounding the WDW Marathon (early January) is great for enjoying smaller attendance. The temps are usually ideal during the day, and the crowds are much smaller than other times. Obviously the park hours are shorter, but it's a worthwhile trade-off.

We are planning on going the week after labor day....september 6-12 (this year)....labor day is sept 1st.....we are hoping crowds will be small...the last two times we were at WDW was last 4th july week...and then this past december 21-24 (NIGHTMARE!)....july 4th week was a breeze compared to christmas time crowds...
Everyone covered the best times except for Jan thru Feb. If you go after the New Year Holiday, it is not crowded and great weather, usually. Florida can get cold though, so com prepared! I also highly reccomend October. Small crowds but it still can get very hot (upper 90's is not uncommon).
We are going Dec 6th - 14th. It is our 1st trip over the holidays. I keep reading this is a low crowd time to go but we were lucky to find hotel rooms in the park and preferred seating was a nightmare. Does anyone know what is going on that week?

Monique Coleman (Taylor High School Musical) is narrating the Candlelight Processional in Epcot, December 10 -12. This may have an impact on those dates.
