Anyways, I got home from seeing the midnight release of the film and I loved it! It was funny and cute from beginning to end. Even the Pixar short was brilliant! I hope those who plan on seeing it will see it soon because it was one amazing little movie. I don't want to give anything away so you can all see for yourself.

Planning to see it Sunday. I read some early reviews of it and they looked promising (though I can't remember pixar films having bad reviews, now that I think of it...). Glad you hear you liked it, though!
Assuming we do get to see it Sunday, I'll be back to talk about it then.

not gonna see this one in the theatres... I'm going to go see it at the drive in!
Like someone else mentioned about cars, and thinking from the preview... what the hell is that movie about ... it's going to suck.. but then I go see it... and it's great... I suspect i'll do the same thing for this one!

Well, it was just ok for me. There are some funny parts and some endearing parts, but it moves a little slow and the overall underlying environmental message is a little annoying. It's the first Pixar movie that has disappointed me. The beginning featurette is hilarious, though!
Get Smart is way better and still my favorite movie of the summer (and the entire year).

I thought it was great. Something Walt would have been proud of (as opposed to the horrible-looking films advertised in the previews, where I could actually feel the Earth rumble as Walt's grave spun...or maybe that was just nausea).
Anyway, a sweet love story with lots of intelligence you can choose to embrace or ignore and still have a great time either way. Just like the best Disney attractions. Some truly beautiful and classic scenes, and along with all the art, they throw in the standard fun and sweetness so kids (and those who don't care for thought or art) don't get bored. Very nice.
It's so refreshing to be spared jokes about bodily functions, pop culture references (except for relatively subtle homages to classic films), wise-cracking sidekicks, and all the other depressing garbage so prevalent in "kids" movies these days. This is actually an unqualified good movie, not just a good kiddie flick.
My major beef is that it's got this anti-consumerist, anti-waste message and then they gave me a free disposable watch (with batteries that can't be replaced!) with my ticket. So when people throw them out, they're going to chuck them (and the toxic chemicals) right into the environment.
Someone in marketing needs to be fired.
Anyway, I called Pixar (510.922.3000) and left messages for Lasseter and Stanton (the film's director), so hopefully someone checks those and will do something about it.
Disney continues to screw up everything it touches, but at least Pixar seems to be maintaining its identity and producing great films Disney couldn't/wouldn't make.

I want to know what you would think of this new movie. I know that I am a new user, and my ideas are pretty much useless, but I'm not quite sure about this MOVIE. If Wall- E's voice changes, I personally would like it better.http://www.flickr.com/photos/animenut/1312869619/
Don't be so down on yourself. Heck, they let me stick around, so you've got a good chance to be heard here too. These people here, have a kindred spirit.
Just went to see Wall-E. We went to the first showing Saturday morning. We had to leave that theater and go to the next showing because of all the crazy kids. (There was a kid's birtday party)
Wall-E will most definitely be added to my collection. I took my wife and daughter, and we loved it. I did have trouble understanding Wall-E at first, but as the movie progressed, I understood him just fine.

I saw it this weekend and loved it. It was funny and moving. I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Some of the robots dialog is hard to understand but you always figure out what they said by their actions. I needed a kleenex during certain parts of the movie, but luckily so did the people in front of me
I give it a 2 THUMBS UP!

I agree. Saw Wall-E Friday night (got a babysitter to go see a Pixar film, go figure)... Both my wife and I liked it quite a bit. For what littld dialogue there was and for it being a little longer in length than many animated films I never looked at my watch once.Captain Schnemo wrote: It's so refreshing to be spared jokes about bodily functions, pop culture references (except for relatively subtle homages to classic films), wise-cracking sidekicks, and all the other depressing garbage so prevalent in "kids" movies these days. I actually had no issues with the underlying social messaging. Two very true issues with the world today are our "throw away" mentality and general obesity on the rise (I don't mean that to be rude - it's a real statistic). That message needs to be put out there and understood. I thought the ship captains photos over time were a great detail.
Plust the Sci-Fi references, especially to 2001 were also great. Minus dreadful memories of Short Circuit 2, I had a great time and experience.
And the short prior to the movie is worth the price of admission by itself.
As for the Disney preview, I agree, not too enticing. Though, MTR was better than I expected, too.
