I got a close up look last week. Got some good pics. I will post them up soon.

Everest looks like it will be sweet

I heard they topped off the main peak about the time you were there and really are flying on the rock creation [takes a million years in real life and just a matter of months in DIsney time - gotta love it].. I can't wait till that opens up.

I wish it looked a bit more Everest like. You could call it the rockies or the andes or anything without much debate.

My family and I can't wait until the ride opens. The themeing looks like the ride will be awesome. (It looks like the ride is based on the idea of the Matterhorn Bobsleds @ Disneyland - is this correct?)

It'll make more kids want to come to Animal Kingdom now!

You're right... the themeing does look incredible! Can we hope for something a'la Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye for the queue?

It is said to be a cross between Matterhorn and Big Thunder...

I believe it is still slated for early 06 - has anyone else seen a more exact time for opening?

I'm planning a trip for next year in August, I'm guessing that EE will be open by then. I can't wait I haven't been in almost 5 years. And I've never been to AK since it opened. Just curious does anyone know of any attractions that are scheduled to be closed when I'm there? I was hoping to take a nice long time going through all 4 major parks and hit everything.

It's too far in advance to know for next August. In May of next year, I'd check Walt Disney's Website or wdwinfo.com for upcoming refurbishings. Have fun planning your trip! :D
