I think I've mentioned this before, but it's also extremely difficult to explain to people what exactly our beef is. Explaining rude CMs or garbage on the floor would be simple.
But when so many people went to The Living Seas, walked through the queue, watched the movie, explored the aquarium, played with the interactive games, watched the shows, listened to the talks...and then said the attraction was about "fish", what could possibly be accomplished?
Even if you had enough time alone with them and enough clue-by-fours to beat our position into their heads, they wouldn't care. That goes for guests and management...and probably a majority of the Imagineers, if the recent attractions are any indication.
If you can't put it on a bumper sticker, people are never going to respond to it.

Very good point Captain Schnemo, I do have a hard time explaining my views to people that only see Disney as a lets go because our parents took us there place. I have friends that I ride with on the train, they just returned from the parks in early May and they just loved the "new" Monsters Inc Laugh Floor (its been a few years) and they thought it was perfectly fine in tomorrowland...........AH!!!!!!!!!
I guess most guests wouldn't care if they built a Wand over the castle, they would think it was cute or something.

Everything most people are posting is right on. Yes, as much as possible the parks should have family appeal.... but do we really need the awe and majesty of the worlds oceans.... the living seas... reduced to an animated clown fishes reality... which isn't reality at all?
Don't get me wrong I LOVE most things about Disney but I also realize the personification of wildlife and fish create a flippin CARTOON world that doesn't exist!
Years ago I was strolling through the huge aviary near the Contemporary Hotel. A woman with three young kids in tow was rushing through the paths, and when she spotted two Tucans sitting on a perch close enough to pet them said, "Look kids, Fruit Loops!"
Maybe I'm just becoming judgemental and crusty, but God, that is so lame!!!

[quote="rdeacon"]This got me to thinking about the current revamp of Epcot. Epcot has truly shifted from the original message they opened the park with. Epcot was opened with these words, “May EPCOT Center entertain, inform and inspire and above all, may it instill a new sense of belief and pride in man's ability to shape a world that offers hope to people everywhere in the world.â€
