animal kingdom lodge savannas

Post by parkhopper26 » Apr Sun 27, 2008 1:45 pm

going down for the food & wine festival this year & we are staying at akl villas (never stayed at this resort before) Would like to get some opinions as to which savanna we should request to overlook.

Really, all the savanna views are great - we particularly enjoy the Arusha savanna along the Zebra Trail at least pre-construction (we've not stayed at AKL since they begain the DVC overlay).

You may want to inquire as to where the construction will be when you are down there as it is scheduled well into Spring of 2009.

While we were staying at The Boardwalk, we went over to take a look at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We arrived arount 7:00pm. We were lucky to see the Giraffe just outside the viewing balcony off of the 2nd floor main area. There were beautiful.

Hi we stayed at AKL and had a room overlooking Arusha Savanah, it was fantastic. If you have trouble sleeping get up and take a look out at the animals the lighting is perfect and it is soooooooooooo peaceful just sitting there watching the animals grazing.

AKL is an amazing place, a destination in its own right. I think any savannah view is good. When we last stayed there, my youngest was not quite 2. She and I would be up early and we spent that time on our balcony watching the animals wake. While I have never been to Africa, I suspect that our sunrise moments were close to the real thing.
