In this thread we post song(s) and/or requests that we find baffling, simply because we don't see the appeal in them, that or we don't understand why they are being requested.
There is also a chance that one of the questionable choices is music/selections made by you, which in that case feel free to answer the question and explain yourself
Let me start:
Why would anyone request JUST the 2-minute warning that is mentioned around Epcot's World Showcase prior to Illuminations? Why not request some of the pre-show music or the fireworks music itself?

Maybe that's all the points they had left so instead of wasting them, request something...

I don't understand why people request things like just the sound of a banging door and grunts from the haunted mansion

oh i love picking horrible requests then leaving for the day.
i'm kidding of course...laugh i actually begin my day deciding if i should pick something or not. usually i just go to the all background music and listen or hit Itunes. lately the request line has been very long. perhaps there are more listeners or more people have larger points but i remember last year actually having dry spells. where no one was on. the request line.

The great thing about this site is that we can all request what we like to hear and when something comes on we may not care for we can switch out to background.

I do not understand the appeal of Halloween or Christmas parade music when we are months away from either holiday, but I am glad that the opportunity exsists for those who want to hear it.

There are tracks I would rather not hear but what some people hate other people love.
Most of the time, I listen to the Background stream.

Another way to look at it: Sometimes I request music just to hear what it's all about. One of them was Aladdin's Other Lamp or something like that, I just wanted to hear what the person said or the music sounded like (don't worry I'm over that faze and am just requesting the good stuff now)

Yea, I think the christmas music or hallowishes choices are a bit odd for this time of year.
Yes, I wonder what some of the choices sound like too. Maybe I should go over to the list and see what to pick...

I personally keep a few Christmas music CDs in my car all year round and listen to it on my iPod throughout the year.

I really didn't like the Klondike Fritos track at first. It grew on me though. I got the same thing with the Happy Halloween Parade.
1980, 2000, 2005 and 2008 all had plenty of magic. Hoping for a bit more in 2010.

This is such a dangerous topic! There are SO many that I wish I didn't have to hear nearly everyday!! But, that said, people like them. So, I just switch to background or soarin' when it gets to be too much for me.
To each their own!

That sound is just disturbing anyway.
Sometimes, I'll wonder why did someone request a particular track, but I've also found that I've come to like a lot of said tracks... as they're ones I wouldn't think to search for myself.
