Character Dining - Has anyone been to the new An. King Bkfst

I've heard they discontinued the breakfast at Restaurantosourus and have a new character breakfast in Asia callled Donald's Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House - Has anyone been to this yet, and if so, can provide any feedback?

I have not eaten breakfast here since the change over, but we did go in and look at the food selections on the buffet one morning. I was not impressed and can't say that I have any desire to try it.

I have to agree with cccmouse. Haven't done since it was Restaurasuras (sp?), which I was never impressed with. And the new one doesn't seem to be anymore impressive.

I'm still not over the fact that they got rid of my favorite quick-service place in Animal Kingdom and replaced it with character dining.

I refuse to go there now, hmmmph!

i didnt like that they took away quick serve there. but i heard the buffet @ lunch/dinner is really well done.

I haven't been to the new one but i have eaten in the old dino one and it wasn't that great. i'll be down in august so maybe one day i'll eat there but who knows

We have eaten there this past February. Usual buffet stuff, nothing great. I did like the way the place looked. Before Donald's Safari Breakfast, I had never gone in Tusker House. Didn't like the menu, so I never went in, So I don't know what it looked like before. If you like character breakfasts, this is another "must do". If not, don't bother. Believe me, I'am tell'n you, it's nothing great.

I have yet to do a character meal.. we keep meaning to.. but then never get around to it... maybe next time

Great, thanks for the responses - I know it's pretty new so I wanted to get the feelers out. I am in agreement with the statements on these meals being the same and somewhat not worth the value in terms of food but we have a 3 yr old and while she is in awe of the characters we want to do as many of these as possible before these days are gone. Her face is priceless when they come over and spend time at the table.

My daughter is 17, and she still loves the character dinning. Her favorite is Winnie the Pooh. Every year we eat at the Crystal Palace just for her. I love to see the child in her come out. Man, am I gonna miss that. Well, there is always grandchildren, I guess. I am 49 and still feel the "magic" when Mickey comes around at Cheif Mickey's.

I am shocked that Garden Grille in Epcot is not in the list. They have probably the best food in my opinion. The characters are also very personable there. Tied for second would be Liberty Tree and Chef Mickey. They are just the good old classics for my family and me.

I went to Tusker House for the Donald's Safari Breakfast. The buffet was the same breakfast food. They have a kids only buffet line that is just their size (its the same food as adults). They also have a huge pastry selection. The characters are great and interact with everyone. They also have a dance along with Donald and his friends. I enjoyed the experience, and would recommend it to others.

I'm not a big fan of character breakfasts, but I voted Crystal Palace because it was one of the better ones I remember. There used to be a very cool one at MGM themed mostly to Aladdin, where you could go and rub the lamp afterward. (The camel that spits water in Adventureland is one of two camels that used to be outside the entrance to that character breakfast). I think this resturant is now the Playhouse Disney Soundstage.

I didn't know that Tusker House was converted to a character breakfast. Lately, AK has been the only park we actually eat breakfast at because that one was so good. I guess now we'll be eating breakfast at the resort every morning. First Norway, now this...

I have been to most character breakfasts in WDW and the new Safari breakfast at the Tusker House is by far my favorite.
