What if mankind had to leave Earth and somebody forgot to turn off the last robot?

Academy Award®-winning writer-director Andrew Stanton ("Finding Nemo") and the inventive storytellers and technical geniuses at Pixar Animation Studios transport moviegoers to a galaxy not so very far away for a new computer-animated cosmic comedy about a determined robot named WALL•E.

After hundreds of lonely years doing what he was built for, WALL•E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. Originally released in 1999, "Toy Story 2" went on to become one of the most popular animated features of all time. The film picks up as Andy is heading off to Cowboy Camp and the toys are left to their own devices. When an obsessive toy collector named Al McWhiggin (owner of Al's Toy Barn) kidnaps Woody, and Woody learns that he's a highly valued collectable from a 1950s TV show called "Woody's Roundup," the stage is set for a daring rescue attempt by the gang from Andy's room. The film introduced such other memorable characters from "Woody's Roundup" as Jessie the cowgirl, Bullseye the horse, and the Prospector.

The only one I'm worried about is Toy Story 3 - with Andy going to college. I'm not sure if they can deliver something as great as the first two.

Guy, you'll be wearing 3D glasses, but more like Muppet Vision than the old red and green from what I've heard.

Wow all of these look great. I almost wish I didn't read the synopsises(?) because now we have to wait so long for them to come to theaters. The only thing that looks weird is all the Tinker Bell movies. Didn't they learn their lesson with all the other sequels? Maybe they're catering to a certain feminine age group?

Cars 2 surprises me and seems unnecessary. What's left to do? I also worry about a 3rd Toy Story.

There's a reason that many of Disney's sequel's were direct to DVD. Don't know how well all of these will carry as sequel's.

It looks like the frog princess thing is the only standard "Disney" movie. I've never been much of a fan of Disney movies in general, but I find that kind of interesting.

Until its in the theatre, its all speculation. Disney, like any studio, makes these announcements knowing full well that a variety of factors can change whether its even released. I don't know, maybe I'm jaundiced here, but I wouldn't plan on anything until they start showing trailers. And the whole Tink storyline is not going to fly (pardon the pun) unless the first one sells --- and its going straight to DVD. Granted, I'm throwing around pixie dust in hopes that it does sell, but that's just me!! Still, how long have we waited for the Tink movie? How many times has it been reworked? And, that's just Tink. I hope that Toy Story and Cars get more forethought.

I don't understand the DVD movie thing. Well, OK, I do understand...it's easy money and you don't have to try very hard.

I get that animation is extremely expensive and it's very risky to spend the money to do a high quality job. I don't understand not writing a decent story with decent direction and acting...that stuff is potentially a lot less expensive.

The Peter Pan sequel had a great premise, but they clearly weren't trying very hard. It's just strange to put out a deliberately low quality product and then slap the Disney brand name on it. It seems very counterintuitive.

There are few, but not zero, examples of television-quality animation with movie-quality storytelling, acting, and direction, which take advantage of second tier talent looking to make a name for themselves (or, at the very least, with a lot of self-respect, respect for the audience, and the desire to make something of quality).

It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to make something that doesn't suck. It'd also be a nice place to take risks and try out untested talent and ideas.

Making something which is deliberately bland and uninspired is just nuts. I guess the plan is to make stuff that's so boring that it completely flies under the radar, and in that way doesn't tarnish the Disney name.

Pixar already figured this one out on their own when they started making Toy Story 2 for home video. Early on they realized they were putting in just as much effort as they would for a "real" movie, and so it became a theatrical release. So the story goes, anyway.

Then again, Pixar still has its self-respect and cares about its brand...

Studio Ghibli experiments with different styles and genres, but Disney seems content to copy others and not even exploit their strengths by doing what they do best. Very curious.
