I would argue that they could easily have had both.meticulus9 wrote:im not a toadie. i would argue that pooh is a better attraction for a famliy than toad

Ever see Alice in Wonderland in Disneyland? And the 20K area was huge. The whole point of WDW was to have more space, yet they still pack more attractions into Disneyland.meticulus9 wrote:i dont know where they could have all three.
We'll just have to agree to disagree there. Toad was a well-known pop culture icon. Pooh is just an inoffensive, forgettable dark ride.i think pooh is a superior attraction than toad.
But, really, the point is that it's a false choice. We should have had both.

definitely tommorrowland... It "seems" to be moving more towards "Pixarland". They need to do more "innovative" rides there, and replace the "tommorrowlad speedway". And stitch.
Please.
For the love of all that is holy.
Replace stitch.
But leave teh CoP alone!!! That classic must always stand there, it should never close. Whenever we go, it is close-to-packed shows in there, and that is always the first ride we go on, and the last.

While each area needs to either kick an exhibit/ride or update/detail better. Main Street needs to go back to the way it was. seperate shops with unique gifts. Lets face it...you can skip the shops at Main Street and find it at Downtown Disney. I also don't like the fact that most of the merchandise i find in main street can be found in Fantasyland, tomorrowland etc.....blah...i miss the magic shop.

To play Devil's Advocate though, it benefits the people that cannot afford to go to Magic Kingdom an opportunity to still purchase some of the magical merchandise that can be found in Magic Kingdom via the World of Disney or the Disney Store...Croaker wrote:While each area needs to either kick an exhibit/ride or update/detail better. Which is another way of saying the theme park merch has been devalued. It used to mean something when you had a Mickey Mouse t-shirt. You'd see it and you could ask someone how their vacation was. Now all it means is that someone's been to the mall.DIAC1987 wrote:To play Devil's Advocate though, it benefits the people that cannot afford to go to Magic Kingdom an opportunity to still purchase some of the magical merchandise that can be found in Magic Kingdom via the World of Disney or the Disney Store...
Ruining the brand was something Eisner excelled at.

in his defense he also saved the company with wells, before he screwed it over.Captain Schnemo wrote:Which is another way of saying the theme park merch has been devalued. But when he ruined it, he really ran it into the ground. I was so mad after reading Disney War! That man's ego went out of control. I couldn't believe what he got away with. He treated one of the largest companies in the world like his personal playground.meticulus9 wrote:in his defense he also saved the company with wells, before he screwed it over.Captain Schnemo wrote:Which is another way of saying the theme park merch has been devalued. Granted, so did Walt in a way. But look what Walt did with it and look what Eisner did.
Uh-oh. I feel a rant coming on. I better stop now before I derail the thread completely.

i would say he left it better than he received it.....disney was a hair way from being taken over in 82-84. more parks, more tourists, more $$$. now he really screwed up with Cali Adventure and AK asia's section should hvae been opened with the park, but overall give him more plus than neg signs. Now he had more positives in the 80s and early 90s and few if any in the 2000s.
