Personally, as long as MGM/HS/whatever is a one-day park for me, I'm not going to take time out for a parade.

I saw the SMP twice and it's ok, but not something I would say I would really want to see again. So I hope Block Party is a little better. Now MSEP is something I could watch every time we go and not get tired of it.

The old parade was sleep inducing, like most parades at Disney (blasphemy to some of you I'm sure), but Block Party Bash is really fun. I went to the cast preview and couldn't believe how much fun I had watching it. It is unlike any other parade at WDW, and truly is a party in the streets. I think guests will love it, but I haven't actually worked during parade time since it started so I can't say for certain what the reaction seems to be.

Because there is so little to do we usually hit the park early and are done before the parade. So I've never seen the SMP. Maybe I'll check out this new parade sometime.

I understand it's mostly Pixar but can someone tell use what characters to expect to see?

so i watched the block party bash parade last week, i was not too impressed.
it stops twice to do a show thing, so u really cant see the whole thing unless your in a good spot. it seemed really out of place for the studios, and, as u already know, is all pixar, which is lame. the performers try their best to make the parade fun, but i dont think that is was, they encourage u to get up and dance, and comeon, arent you already tired enough? one good thing, the floats are impressive, but overall, i was disapointed

We also went last week, and have trouble explaining the Block Party Bash. It was fun, and it was good, but we thought we had great seats (front row, just past the turn, in front of the Sorcerer Mickey Hat). We did not have great seats.

I highly recommend that you either view this show on Hollywood Boulevard for their first stop, or in front of Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous for their second show. Being near the hat, you are either at the beginning (first float) of the first stop, or at the end (last float) for the second stop.

Personally, we have always thought that the Hercules Parade at MGM was their best parade.

Thanks for the tip! Depending when nap time happens that day, we may see BPB during our next stay.

We've only stopped to watch the SMCP once - and that was for the kids. It was the only truly take-it-or-leave-it parade at WDW for our family. :| I'm excited to see the block party!
