*blink* ... wow. I mean ... I love Stitch, but I'm pretty sure I just threw up in my mouth a little. o_O I should have heeded Cheshire Cat's warning and not clicked.

well, for one, i am just *that* crazy about stitch.

and for two, i figure there's really not much they can do to the current "under new management" that'd make it worse...taking out iago and zazu and adding stitch or another non-obnoxious character would be appreciated by me!

Oh, I'm crazy about Stitch. The state of my apartment would leave little doubt there. Just the concept of bouncing the Tiki Birds in favor of him doesn't sit well with me.. I would love to see a really well thought out, really well done ride/attraction devoted to Stitch. The animatronic in Stitch's Great Escape is fantastic, I think, but the rest of the show is just ... not. I would much prefer to see them put a lot of thought and effort into making a really top notch Stitch attraction than aimlessly shoe-horning him into other things.

I'm right there with you on getting Iago and Zazu outta WDW's Tiki Room, though. I've said it in a few threads here; I can't stand the 'under new management' show.

i agree that stitch's great escape could use some work. i'd love a stitch ride that was completely new, too.

seriously, though, i'm that bad....like, if stitch was added to every ride at wdw...and i mean every ride, i'd be thrilled. though, i'd worry about my disney stocks lol...

maybe not if he dominated every ride, but a cameo here and there would be awesome for me lol...i understand how others would totally hate that, though lol

Actually, that'd be kind of hilarious (well maybe not 'for real' ... but it'd be funny to imagine anyway). Like the ad campaign they did for the movie where he popped up in all kinds of other movies? Every ride could have Hidden Stitchies. Maybe that can be the 5th theme park. Stitch Kingdom.

lol disbeamer! it'd be so cool.

hey, wdw even subconsciously wants to do that...remember the 2005 monorail recording where you'd hear the voice talk about stitch's great escape? when you'd arrive at the MK you'd hear him say "welcome to stitch kingdom!" and lots of stitch noises (along with "ow! i hit my head!" as the voice told you to watch your head and step lol....

I know, I know. I promise when we're reading the press releases in 2010 about Stitch Kingdom, you can drag me out to Town Square and shoot me.

I actually have a recording of that around somewhere. It's one of the few things I was ever compelled to record myself. That, and the wake up call with Stitch instead of Mickey.

It's funny that Tokyo is adding Stitch to the Tiki Room (though I wouldn't have changed the name to the Stitch Room, not unless they're gonna start selling quilting supplies) - when "Lilo & Stitch" came out, I liked "Hele Mi No Lilo" and "Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride" so much I though it might be neat to add them to the Tiki Room. The key, however, would be paying respect to the tradition of the attraction - the characters of Lilo and Stitch can be added, but they should be respectful to the Tiki Room. I think that's my problem with "Under New Management" - it tells the audience that they should believe the old show was dumb, boring, and old, and that therefore the people who like the old classic show are stupid. Essentially, it insults the same audience that would likely come to see the show. Oh, and it tries to be relevant to the "kids today" (instead of timeless) by adding irony, sarcasm, and cheesy pop music, all of which, ironically, make it seem dated.

My point? If they're going to add Stitch, it should be in small doses, and he shouldn't be a jerk/crazed alien like he is in "Stitch's Great Escape." Calm him down - give him some Valium - before you set him lose in my beloved Tiki Room.
"Pretty soon we'll be underwater - I mean, underway."

saritajuanita, i totally agree. i think stitch (and maybe even lilo) could mesh very well in the tiki room (i could so see stitch hula-ing!)...the music would be great, too!

much better than the pop stuff that's in the tiki room now (the conga, get on your feet or whatever etc). it doens't fit in the tiki room at all. zazu and iago drown out the peacefullness and beauty that the tiki room once was. stitch fits in much better, as the sweet hawaiian stitch...not alien stitch, of course;)

i hope i can find a video on youtube or something of the tokyo tiki room when it opens. it'll be a good long while until we may visit japan.

Just as long as that doesn't happen to the Tiki Room in Disneyland I won't care. But so help me if they do that to the Real Tiki Room.............

I need to go before I freak out and go on a crazy rant!

I shall see if I can track them both down to upload. They should be on my ipod somewhere... :)

I have to agree with the above; a toned down hula Stitch and Lilo would seem to be a decent fit for the south Pacific kind of theme in there. But Stitch chasing the Tiki birds and chewing on the idols would send me screaming from the room. I also agree they should leave the original at DL alone; actually making the WDW/TDL/DL ones different might be a step in the right direction as far as not having cookie-cutter parks.

Of the recordings I have, they're in Japanese. However I don't have the Tiki Room so I don't know about that one specifically.
