um, do you know much about CNN? they did a whole bunch of controversial stuff (inserting a big red X to flash on and off of Pres. Bush's head while he was holding a conference? that sound professional?). i'm not going into the other incredibly offensive things that cnn has done (and fully admitted to) because that is not the purpose of this thread. just trying to point out the error in your statment.

merits of this question? wow, rude much? it's not your place to decide the "merits" of any question a user posts on here. here's a fact for you: a user can post any question, as long as it's related to disney, on this particular forum as long as it's family friendly.

ericpabear's question was related to disney, wasn't profane, and had all right to be posted here.

It's possible that WDW doesn't carry the FNC because they don't like it...I just think it's unlikely.
lebeau wrote:Obviously ericpabear and I disagree on the merits of the question.
Then why come into the thread and comment at all?
lebeau wrote:Have you read my original post? Because I said more than "That channel is stupid."

However, I disagree with your assertion that sucha response would be immature.

What's immature about it? He asked why it wasn't offered by Disney a several people essentially responded that it wasn't worth offering.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Of the first three responses, your post was the most "helpful." What I find to be immature is coming in to post only that FNC is stupid, awful, inaccurate, etc. and not discuss the topic.

If you don't know why FNC isn't carried and you don't see any point in discussing it, why did you post at all? Did you just feel you needed to share your dislike of the channel?

As I've said previously, the original post came across to me as having an air of entitlement. I was responding to that.
They have MSN, CNN, MSNBC but no FOX NEWS !!!!! I was so certain that I must have over looked the station, I had my wife and daughter try to find it. No Fox News. Every day while in the room, I would flip stations looking for it, not believeing my beloved WDW would do this. They cater to all walks of life but not mine. It still upsets me.
Three pages later, it still blows my mind that anyone would feel slighted because a cable channel was not offered in their hotel room. That's why I posted my original response.

I think the whole discussion is beyond silly. I'd have let the whole thing drop by now except that I have been called "rude" and "immature" several times.

talk about sense of entitlement! it is not your place to judge what is "silly" or who sounds like they "have an air" or what is worth being discussed on these forums! ericpabear has been nothing but cordial and friendly, i can not say the same for your hostility towards his post and his right to post!

What's rude about questioning the merits of a topic? Sure, he can post whatever he wants if it relates to Disney. Not every topic that relates to Disney is worthwhile.

I'm sorry, but I've found your posts to be far more rude than anything I've posted.

I don't feel I've been hostile at all. I haven't denied his right to post or anyone else's. I do feel his post was silly. And I do feel it had an air of entitlement. That's just my opinion. And I believe that the right to post an opinion extends to me as well.

First I would like to thank everyone for thier kind and thoughtfull words. To answer an earlier question, this year we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The best answer and the most probable was it was not included in the "package", when they signed for the cable service. I still have'nt found for sure why, so I went surf'n. I found this on

we need the newspaper boy from SSE to settle this once and for all!!! lol Come on everyone, this is the news we're talking about. You're at WDW!!! I barely watch TV there, so I don't care what channels there are. Yes, I like to know the sports scores, but when I am at WDW the rest of the world doesn't matter, lol!

my sentiments exactly. if I'm in the need for sports scores, I'll just check my cell phone. I can get the scores with the mobile web feature, or I can get text message alerts with updates.

i am a news junkie, but i get 99% of my news from the net (even at disney...which will be free for most of our trip in may, cuz we're dvc and there's a new policy, yay!)

i do like to watch tv at night at wdw, though. i stay up pretty late, and i'm not really comfy to surf for long periods of time sitting in the room chairs and at the small tables in the rooms...

some of the dvc rooms have dvd players in them, so we do rent movies sometimes.

This is the funniest thing I've read in this silly thread so far...

The network of Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, and Jack Cafferty is liberal babble? Never mind their inability and unwillingness to highlight all the falsehoods put forth by any presidential administration (Republican or Democratic).

I agree that they're largely incompetent, but they spread their failure across the entire political spectrum.

While on vacation, I watch the local news to stay informed about the area, the wheather and the world. I also flip the chanels while dressing, drinking coffee, and waiting my turn for the bahtroom. I watch the news when I come back for a nap around mid day. I flip the chanels when we come back at night, while waiting for my turn in the bathroom. Watching the news (staying informed) was what I was taught a responsible adult does. Even on vacation. I didn't notice the Fox News Channel was missing till this year. This is the first time I went looking for it. I don't like the "other" stations, they upset me too much. I usualy just pass them up,
(unless Glenn Beck is on)

Refering to a previous by Captain Schnemo:
Glenn Beck IS GREAT! (My oppinion) If any one here hasn't watched this guy, please do. He also has a web site

I believe that the reason Disney Resorts do not carry Fox News is because it may be part of a special cable package. It has to do with the cable provider. When I signed up with Dish Network a few years ago, I noticed that Fox News was not part of the "basic" package and I had to order more channels to receive it. It is strange that Disney does not cover the most watched cable channel, but it could just be that they don't want to spend more money for channels. They are a business and have to answer to stockholders. It's not the first time I've heard of Disney cutting costs.

Everyone needs to relax. I only watch Fox News and I just won't watch news when I'm at Disney. I get most of my news from the internet. Print and broadcast news is a dying breed anyway.
