I was a CP. And, no, they don't work harder. Most of the people I knew showed up to work drunk and had absolutely no knowledge of anything Disney. It was all a big party to them.

Disney gets rid of full and part time employees because they are a crappy company to work for. They'd much rather have the slave labor (CPs) that they can pay $6/hr and then take all the money back from them in the form of rent in their apartments.

I didn't say it HAD to be CPs. I said most likely. It is most likely CPs because they don't have anything invested in Disney. The part-time and full-time people that I worked with had a lot more pride in their jobs and WDW than most CPs. The chances of a 20 year old letting some people slide by because they don't want to deal with the confrontation are a lot higher than older, regular employees.

Not to mention the fact that it is fairly easy to tell CPs and regular cast members apart much of the time.

It's a generalization from my experience, nothing more.

i have no idea when you were a CP, but back before 9/11 when I was there every CP I worked with worked our tails off, so please don't generalize CPs to the people you knew.

Okay. As soon as you stop doing exactly the same thing. Do you even read your own posts before you attack others'?

ok, we don't need to get so personal over generalizations. everyone has the right to their own opinions. in addition, with the bickering back and forth, the thread is going off-topic. please continue any such conversations/debates through PM rather than within the thread.

I have noticed it as well and I kinda do something similar. I may not keep them on my wrist, but I do still have all of the bracelets from our last trip. It may be a bit geeky, but it's a nice reminder of the magic.

keeping them, and keeping them on are 2 different things. I hae all the ones from my last trip as well, but I didn;t keep them all on at once. no way I could do it, either - it would irritate my wrist too much...

I would agree i don't see how this is going to done efffcently. But from what I have read, people where cheating the system with the wristbands. I can see how if there are counterfit, the sweeps would fail. I would agree that presenting the card at each attraction is going to be a pain. Its a shame a handful of people once again ruin it for the masses.

I know of people who would get wristbands from their friends to stay for the extra magic hours. I never participitated in that as a matter of fact, I hated EMH nights whenever I worked so I would feel bad going to the parks when I'm not supposed to be on a night I hated working.

When I went to the P&P Party in August, they had Main Street open, and the pathways to each land at the Main Spoke roped off with a cast member checking wrist bands. That seemed to be working pretty well.

Yeah but what about the people who were stuck in Tomorrowland for a few hours who didnt have a wristband?

I think they were turned away from the rides as they tried to get on.

I don't think they were being as strict as they might have been during a peak party like Halloween or Christmas. Every ride that night was a walk-on, and the paths were practically deserted...even Space and Splash Mountain. It wouldn't be right for them to differentiate between a peak crowd time and a slower one, but it seemed like that was what they were possibly doing.
